'The Left Will Surrender To Terror' In the latest Likud ad for the upcoming Israeli elections, a group of ISIS terrorists (played by actors, of course) are seen asking for directions to Jerusalem. Likud is led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Elections there are a month away. The ad shows the group of terrorists pulling up to a random Israeli to ask how to get to Jerusalem. "Take left," they're told. The screen goes dark and Hebrew words appear as gun shots can be heard. "The left will surrender to terror," the text on the screen reads.

Jeb Bush’s money juggernaut is far eclipsing the efforts of his would-be rivals for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, putting his two political committees on pace to amass an unprecedented sum of tens of millions of dollars by early spring. The former Florida governor’s overwhelming dominance in the race to line up financial backers has come at a speed that has impressed longtime Republican money players, who say wealthy party backers have rapidly migrated to Bush since 2012 nominee Mitt Romney decided against another White House run two weeks ago.

President Obama’s temporary deportation amnesty will make it easier for illegal immigrants to improperly register and vote in elections, state elections officials testified to Congress on Thursday, saying that the driver’s licenses and Social Security numbers they will be granted create a major voting loophole. While stressing that it remains illegal for noncitizens to vote, secretaries of state from Ohio and Kansas said they won’t have the tools to sniff out illegal immigrants who register anyway, ignoring stiff penalties to fill out the registration forms that are easily available at shopping malls, motor vehicle bureaus and in curbside registration drives....

The mother of a mentally disabled man allegedly beaten at a Gordon facility that cared for disabled adults has filed suit seeking punitive damages. The lawsuit, filed Tuesday by Betty Gill in Bibb County Superior Court, claims that her son, Joseph Allen Cason Jr., also was taken to vote in the 2013 Gordon city election, although he lived in another county. Employees, while acting in their scope of employment, allegedly took Cason and other residents to the polls to vote for the sister of the facility’s owner, who was running for mayor, according to the suit.

A Bush fundraiser Thursday in Indian Wells, Calif., is being hosted by former Missouri Sen. John Danforth, one of a group of former Republican lawmakers who have criticized the party for shifting focus to a Christian social agenda. In advance of the country club fundraiser for Bush’s Right to Rise PAC, critics distributed a 2005 op-ed Danforth wrote for the New York Times in which he slapped the party for moving away from fighting deficits to opposing gay marriage. And he accused the GOP of becoming a “political arm” of Christians. “As a senator, I worried every day about the...

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday he will allow the Senate to vote on an amendment asking if they agree that climate change is impacting the planet. At his weekly press briefing, McConnell said "nobody is blocking any amendments" to legislation that would approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. The GOP leader had promised to allow an open amendment process on the Keystone bill. But a measure proposed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) had raised questions about whether he would stick to that commitment. The Sanders measure asks whether lawmakers agree with the overwhelming consensus of scientists...

From Politico this morning, in an article entitled, “GOP hopes it’s cracked the abortion code: Republicans unite around a push to ban the procedure after 20 weeks of pregnancy”: … GOP leaders plan to vote on a federal 20-week abortion ban on Jan. 22. That’s the 42nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade and falls on the same day as the March for Life…. In the House, Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) opted to tie the upcoming vote to the March for Life event after meeting with leading anti-abortion groups and Republicans who have long been vocal opponents of abortion. McCarthy...

How Education Has Empowered Me What is education? There are many who would say that an education is merely an entity that is to be possessed and others who say that it is only a means to move forward in the world, however I believe that education is a key, a key to freedom. Nelson Mandela once said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world", I truly agree with the wise words of Mr. Mandela and hope that one day I can use my education to do great things. When I was young...

Welcome to Washington, Congressman Grothman. Glenn Grothman's very first vote as a member of Congress, a vote in favor of John Boehner for Speaker, earned the ire of RedState.com Editor in Chief Erick Erickson who declared Grothman "all talk." "There will be no standing up by Glenn Grothman. Elections have a way of voluntarily and willingly neutering congressmen." Critics of Grothman are pointing to Grothman's willingness during the summer primary to criticize Boehner's leadership in the House and suggest that he would vote against the sitting Speaker in 2015. “I would have no problem looking for an alternative to Speaker...

  • Voter Turnout Boomed Under Bush, Not Under Obama

There is a widespread assumption that President Obama has expanded the electorate and inspired booming voter turnout. One could make a case for that based on the 2008 election. But since then, not so much. Looking back over the past 15 years, the biggest surge in voter turnout came during George W. Bush's presidency. In the Obama years, turnout actually declined in both the 2012 presidential and the 2014 congressional elections. In 2000, about 105 million Americans voted for president. In 2004, 122 million did. That's a 16 percent rise, the largest between two presidential elections since 1948 and 1952....

In an interview with The Hill Illinois Republican Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) said that possible presidential runs by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) would hurt the Illinois Republican Party. “We definitely have our isolationist wing, which I completely disagree with,” he said, pointing to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), before promising to back a GOP candidate in the presidential primary that he thought would do well in Illinois. He criticized Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) bombastic style as well.

...In the midst of the summit, Clinton touched briefly on US-Cuba relations, telling CBS4’s news partner the Miami Herald, he believes the embargo could be lifted if Cuba released USAID subcontractor Alan Gross, who’s serving out a 15 year sentence on the island. Following the daylong meeting, Clinton and his wife Hillary were the guests of honor at a fundraiser at the Star Island home of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. “President Clinton, when he left office in 2001, still thought he hadn’t done enough, and thought as a private citizen he would like to do what he can,” Gloria Estefan...

The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) released a poll from On Message on Monday which gives a good indication of how Gov. Rick Scott was able to defeat former Gov. Charlie Crist in last month’s Florida general election. The poll of Floridians who voted in November shows Scott did better than expected with Hispanic voters while also taking a majority of male voters and seniors. Scott won the election 48 percent to 47 percent and did well with Hispanics, running almost dead even with Crist. The poll shows 49 percent of Hispanic voters backed the Democrat while 47 percent supported...

A political crisis erupted in Sweden Tuesday when the extreme-right Sweden Democrats, the country's third largest party, vowed to block the new leftist-green government's budget, a move that could trigger new elections. "The Sweden Democrats will work towards taking down every government and every budget proposal that supports increased immigration at today's levels," the populist party's acting leader Mattias Karlsson said in a press conference. The party -- which holds the balance of power in parliament -- said its decision was in reaction to the minority government's pro-immigration policies. It pledged instead to support a rival budget proposal from the...

Many like to claim that voter fraud is a myth. However, after watching this video, you’ll understand why people might be a little concerned about it happening. The Black Conservatives Fund released a video today showing a leading Louisiana Democrat encouraging people at a private Democrat party event to vote twice. According to the BCF press release, Opelousas Mayor Don Cravins Sr. spoke at a rally at the Charcoal Lounge in Opelousas on November 3, 2014 – the day before Louisiana’s primary election. His son, Don Cravins Jr., is the chief of staff for Louisiana’s embattled Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu....

About a week after the Republican midterm romp, nearly 20 soon-to-be House GOP freshmen huddled for a private lunch on the third floor of the Capitol Hill Club. The mood was jubilant: Each had prevailed in a swing district, exploiting deep unhappiness with President Barack Obama and angst over the country’s future. But as they dug into platters of lasagna, salad and chicken, the newbies were given some sobering news. GOP officials explained that they would be among Democrats’ top 2016 targets — when they’d be up against a more diverse electorate — and they needed to start preparing now....

...Ruth Bader Ginsburg left the hospital yesterday after having a heart stent implanted and expects to be back at work Monday. Despite various health issues over the years, Ginsburg insists that she is still of sound body at age 81 (her mind isn’t in question) and has no plans to retire before the end of President Obama’s term to ensure a Democratic replacement. If she keeps to that pledge, and presuming there are no other retirements in the next two years, the makeup of the Supreme Court could be a bigger campaign issue in 2016 than ever before.
