Here's why Rajeev Srinivasan believes there will be nothing particularly positive about the prime minister's US visit. IMAGE: The fact that it has taken this long for the US to extend an invitation to Narendra Modi suggests that India is not on Donald Trump's event horizon. Photographs: Peter Nicholls/Getty Images and Carlos Barria/Reuters Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not naive, so he is surely approaching his fifth visit to the United States, and his first meeting with US President Donald Trump with careful preparation. He is also deliberately creating low expectations. Unlike the hoopla of his previous Madison Square Gardens...

China's construction of military base in the strategic location of Djibouti is just the first of what will likely be an ongoing expansion in friendly foreign ports around the world, says a Pentagon report. A US appeals court has ruled that military-style assault weapons are not protected under the US Constitution, dealing a blow to gun rights activists. In a 10-4 ruling, the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, said the 45 assault weapons banned under Maryland's law are not protected by the Second Amendment. 'Put simply, we have no power to extend Second Amendment protection to the weapons of war,' wrote Judge Robert King, adding that the Supreme Court's decision in District of Columbia v. Heller explicitly excluded such coverage. While the Second Amendment guarantees Americans the right to bear...

""Wikileaks Bombshell Leaked To True Pundit: Hillary Clinton Knew of Weapons Supplied from Benghazi to Al-Qaeda in Syria"" Wikileaks has promised to release documents linking Hillary Clinton to knowingly supplying Syria with weapons from her state department. That disclosure could come in any number of days, sources said. True Pundit, however, has already unearthed the documentation. The Intel provides official confirmation of what has been rumored for years: President Obama, his White House, and Hillary Clinton and her State Department knew that weapons were being shipped from Benghazi to rebel troops in Syria. Those “rebels” were largely al Qaeda and...

TORONTO - Border officials say they've seized a cache of gun parts and police equipment at Toronto's Pearson International Airport that was destined for Iraq. The Canada Border Services Agency says the discovery of the arms stemmed from an incident in February, when officers at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing in Niagara Falls, Ont., identified a man who was the subject of "an intelligence lookout." During an interview with the man, officers discovered an airline waybill indicating an export of auto parts to Iraq. The CBSA says further investigation revealed documentation and photos that caused officers to suspect gun parts...

SEOUL/TOKYO, Feb 7 (Reuters) - North Korea launched a long-range rocket on Sunday carrying what it has called a satellite, but its neighbours and Washington denounced the launch as a missile test, conducted in defiance of U.N. sanctions and just weeks after a nuclear bomb test. The U.S. Strategic Command said it had detected a missile entering space, and South Korea's military said the rocket had put an object into orbit. North Korea said the launch of its satellite Kwangmyongsong-4, named after late leader Kim Jong Il, was a "complete success" and that it was making a polar orbit of...

McAfee, who recently announced he is running in 2016, wrote in a blog for Business Insider: 'Experts agree that an all out cyber attack, beginning with an EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack on our electronic infrastructure, would wipe out 90% of the human population of this country within two years of the attack. 'That means the death of 270 million people within 24 months after the attack.' Read more:...

Any doubts Ben Carson left about his commitment to the Second Amendment stemmed from “political inexperience,” the famed neurosurgeon told TheBlaze. Carson, who is among the leading Republican presidential candidates in most polls, said in 2013 shortly after the public began calling for him to run for president, that the right to own a semi-automatic weapon depended on whether someone lived in a rural or populated area.

Iran has no intention of reaching a settlement over its illicit nuclear program, the Islamic Republic’s senior strategist revealed last week on his blog. Instead, the regime has adopted a policy of “elongation” with the 5+1 nations in which it strings along the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany as it develops nuclear weapons, wrote Alireza Forghani. Forghani is a senior analyst and strategy specialist in the supreme leader’s camp and closely aligned with Mehdi Taeb, who heads the regime’s Ammar Strategic Base, a radical think thank, and thus speaks with the blessing of the Islamic regime. “Elongation”...

This morning my Daughter and her friend were jogging on the bridge today. They came across a 45 caliber Glock in the grass by the sidewalk. It appeared someone tried to toss the gun from a moving car into the marsh, but missed. She saw a policeman writing a traffic ticket and told him what she saw. He asked her to wait while he finished his business. Then he came and interviewed the girls and called the investigators to treat the gun as a crime scene.

About 4 a.m. Tuesday, Oklahoma City police were called to a home at 3308 SE 89 and found Brandy Moreno, who said she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend, Leo Henry. Henry tried to flee from the home after being shot and was found down the street, police said.

A competing rifle outperformed the Army’s favored M4A1 carbine in key firings during a competition last year before the service abruptly called off the tests and stuck with its gun, according to a new confidential report. The report also says the Army changed the ammunition midstream to a round “tailored” for the M4A1 rifle. It quoted competing companies as saying the switch was unfair because they did not have enough time to fire the new ammo and redesign their rifles before the tests began. Exactly how the eight challengers — and the M4 — performed in a shootout to replace...
