**SNIP** The lack of credible responsibility continues to stagger as Democrats in Congress, which the president has repeatedly misread, pull away from him in fear of hot constituent backlash and looming 2014 midterm elections. But many inside the Beltway and elsewhere seem shocked as Americans must deal with the ramifications of a health policy that its own government created, but now can't manage. It's no longer Republicans who are using the word "lied" when referring to the president's healthcare debacle. "Had I been informed (about the healthcare.gov website), I wouldn't be going out saying, 'Boy, this is going to be...

I don't envy the army of geeks who are engaged in trying to salvage something from the healthcare.gov debacle. They've been at it for six weeks with still no clear prospects of when the site might be usuable - even barely. Jeff Zients, the Obama administration's point man riding herd on the army of techies who are frantically working to repair the glitches that are constantly showing up, says they've established some priorities; a top 50 list of the most important fixes for the website. Of course, that doesn't include more dozens of minor issues that need to be addressed....

Since the troubled Healthcare.gov website launched it's been hit by 16 cyber-attacks, according to the Department of Homeland security. The website has also received a handful of hacking attempts, none of which was successful. The numbers are actually very small, relatively speaking. Government websites are constantly on the receiving end of attempted cyber attacks.

(Reuters) - A new push to sign up Americans for insurance under President Barack Obama's healthcare law will begin in December, when the government's faulty enrollment website is expected to work better, an advocacy group leading the campaign said on Tuesday. Technical problems with the HealthCare.Gov website since it opened October 1 has hindered enrollment and undercut momentum for organizations such as Enroll America, which has led efforts to explain benefits to consumers in 10 states, including Florida, Texas and Ohio. The Obama administration is racing to fix the website by November 30 so that people who want benefits to...

If you’re expecting a low number of enrollees when the Department of Health and Human Services announces its first round of Obamacare registrant figures this week, here’s a sneak peek into what to expect. Health-care consultant Avalere Health reported Monday that 3% of the expected 2014 enrollment figure was met as of last week, or 49,100 registrants out of 1.4 million, for 12 of the 15 exchanges available in 14 states and the District of Columbia. No figures were available for California, Massachusetts and Oregon and aren’t included in the totals. Also not included are figures from HealthCare.gov, the troubled...

From the day that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act went into effect to the morning that the federal healthcare exchange went live, 1288 days passed. 3 years, 6 months, and 8 days. In all that time, our federal government could not construct a website that actually worked, and we are still waiting for a final product. Here are 4 things the United States government accomplished in less time than it has taken to build a working website: (Number 2 is pretty amazing) http://www.camharris.us/2013/11/4-things-the-us-government-accomplished-in-less-time-than-it-took-to-build-a-working-obamacare-website/

November 9, 2013 U.S. fought WWII quicker than launching healthcare website by Kaitlyn Schallhorn Apparently the United States can fight a world war in less time than it can put together a successful website. In an email to Fox News’ Bret Baier, a man identified as Bill from Kentucky certainly took less than three years to put the entire Obamacare fiasco into perspective. Bill compared the time it took to launch healthcare.gov to the United States’ entire involvement in World War II. “Putting things in perspective: March 21st 2010 to October 1 2013 is 3 years, 6 months, 10 days. President Obama and his team are embarking on a shift in message just days before facing an even bigger onslaught of ObamaCare criticism. Obama apologized Thursday night to Americans who are losing their health plans in spite of his promise that, if they liked their coverage, they could keep it. The comment represented a major shift in tone for an administration that has been in crisis mode since last month, when the rollout of HealthCare.gov was deemed a serious failure. Now, the White House is heading into a week that's guaranteed to test its new messaging approach. The question is...

House Republicans are pouncing on President Obama’s apology for cancelled insurance plans to push him into backing legislation that would change ObamaCare. The president on Thursday said he was “sorry” that Americans were losing their healthcare plans despite his frequent assurances that individuals with insurance could keep them. Obama said he was seeking an administrative fix, but Republicans say they have a ready-made solution in the Keep Your Plan bill that they plan to bring up for a vote next week. A spokesman for Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said the president can’t address the problems plaguing the healthcare law through...

The White House’s refusal to make a top technology official available to Congress is drawing some heat on the Hill. The White House declined this week to make Chief Technology Officer Todd Park available to testify at a House Oversight hearing next Wednesday on the rollout of Healthcare.gov. White House Assistant Director for Legislative Affairs Donna Pignatelli said Mr. Park is currently too busy helping fix the troubled healthcare website to appear, and suggested he testify in early December instead.

The number of Illinoisans able to sign up for new health insurance plans offered under the Affordable Care Act in October is likely in the hundreds, a top state health official said Friday. Jennifer Koehler, director of the Illinois state health insurance marketplace, said that because of continued problems with the federal website that operates the state exchange, she projects the number of people in Illinois who enrolled in coverage in the first month to be "far less than some were expecting."

A spelling mistake in the words 'not recommended' on the Obamacare website led to the site going down, it was revealed today in internal notes from 'war room' meetings of experts scrabbling to breathe life into the shambolic operation. The error limited the choices Obamacare shoppers were offered in October and often presented them with overpriced options. Ultimately, at least some of the website's many outages were brought about by this simple typo, as technicians struggled to give the public an experience that mirrored President Obama's promises. 'In states where the federal government helps run these marketplaces, the average American...

How could the U.S. Government make such a mess of the roll-out of the website for ObamaCare? Actually, government computer systems incompetence is normal. The reaction to www.HealthCare.gov presupposes that our government normally does these things well. ObamaCare is high profile and under the microscope. The filibuster and shutdown confrontation brought intense attention to the roll-out on October 1. But the U.S. Government routinely bungles computer projects large and small and wastes money. Why didn't the Federal government learn anything from past fiascoes? How could President Obama imagine that the Federal Government could hijack and control one-sixth of the nation's...

My first vanity, likely my last. Finally - someone is fighting back. A new website "Don't Enroll- Alaska" (http://www.dontenrollalaska.org/#)is now up and running. In addition to the website, ads are running on local TeeVee and local cable channels. I've not seen that is is part of a National campaign, but it should be. Check out the site and let your friends know - don't enroll. Std disclaimer - I've had nothing to do with this site, but thought is was on point enough to share here for others to see, it is time to start fighting back....

This… is not an issue of too many people making the site crash. Heritage: Justin Hadley logged on to HealthCare.gov to evaluate his insurance options after his health plan was canceled. What he discovered was an apparent security flaw that disclosed eligibility letters addressed to individuals from another state. After multiple attempts to access the problem-plagued website, Hadley finally made it past the registration page Thursday. That’s when he was greeted with downloadable letters about eligibility — for two people in South Carolina. This is an issue of the site simply not being secure at all. Heritage reported that the...

Forty-eight hours after a congressional committee grilled her over problems related to the new health insurance website, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was in Memphis, flanked by defenders. U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, told press gathered Friday, Nov. 1, for the secretary’s visit to the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library that “change is hard” but, “Get over it. Barack Obama is president, and the Affordable Care Act is the law.”
