  • An Inconvenient Truth – The 1900 Galveston Hurricane

For those who believe in Man-Made Global Warming allow me to present to you this inconvenient truth. In 1900 a category 4 hurricane hit Galveston Texas leveling the city. This was before pollution from China, India and USA. Autos had just started being built. No emissions into the air yet. No hole in the ozone.

There's that old saying, "Be careful what you ask for; you might just get it". Aside from the latest social media trend of #WhiteShaming that's essentially putting all campus whites on notice, who in their right mind would really want anyone but whites running American society?
  • A Russian Soldier's Instagram Posts May Be The Clearest Indication Of Moscow's Involvement

Moscow has tried to hide its support for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, but some social media posts from a Russian soldier may reveal even more direct involvement in the region. Over at BuzzFeed, reporter Max Seddon has the scoop on a 24-year-old soldier named Alexander Sotkin, who has been posting some very interesting photos of his military service, and the locations of the photos are rather telling. While Seddon has embedded a number of Sotkin's photos, which show him in southern Russia taking selfies, it's this one the communications specialist posted, in rebel-controlled Krasna Talycha in east Ukraine, that's...

A man is in custody after he tried to run over a Border Patrol agent while smuggling a load of marijuana. It happened Friday morning at 11:20 a.m. in the La Casita area near Rio Grande City. Starr County Sheriff Office investigators confirm the driver of a brown Tahoe ran into a Border Patrol unit head on. The agent then opened fire from inside his unit. Authorities said the shots went through the agents windshield and into the suspects windshield, but the suspect was not hit. The suspect, who is from the area, was arrested and is said to have...
  • Eve was unarmed. She wasn't wearing a hoody. She was murdered. Are you angry?

I don’t have to tell you I’m not a racist; my life speaks for me.  Yet, I will probably be called a racist because of this post. I don’t like what happened to Trayvon Martin and I don’t claim to understand the frame of mind George Zimmerman was in when he fired his weapon. I don’t know the whole story behind the story. None of us do, yet. But this I know: a kid is dead and his killer is being publicly executed.  The state of Florida is investigating the killing more slowly than some think is necessary and the Panthers have a bounty on Zimmermans’ head. People...
  • Solyndra, Crony Capitalism and the Leviathan State

Conservatives, Libertarians and even Republicans should use the stunning example to the bankruptcy of Solyndra to reach the obvious conclusion. Whether the Obama administration is corrupt, incompetent or simply the victim of ideological stupidity is almost beside the point. Of course it's all three. The larger point is one that Conservatives and Libertarians have been making for some time: that government screws up and the bigger the government the bigger the screw-ups. Only government intervention could have produced the housing bubble, and the economic rubble that we are living with was created by government policies. Only government can run up...

The inmate accused of strangling John Geoghan in his prison cell hated homosexuals and began plotting the attack on the child molesting former priest weeks ago, a prosecutor said yesterday. 'He looked on Father Geoghan as a prize,' District Attorney John Conte said. No question he had been planning it for well over a month.Joe L. Druce, who is serving a life term for killing a gay man 15 years ago, cut apart a book to make a perfect tool for jamming the door of Geoghan's cell and spent time stretching the socks used in the strangling, Conte said.'Druce had...
  • Easing homework stress for high-gear students (Palo Alto says no homework on weekends, breaks)

The blasé summer days of hangin' out, lyin' around and doin' nothing are ending this week for many Bay Area teenagers, but that doesn't necessarily mean a return to the manic mode typical of ambitious high school students. Lynbrook High School in San Jose will kick off school today with new guidelines that discourage teachers from assigning homework over weekends and holidays. And Palo Alto High School, which welcomes students back Tuesday, is granting its first homework holiday at the end of the semester to give high-gear students some time to chill. Administrators' attempts to lighten the homework load are...
