The 76-year-old Mojave Cross war memorial in San Bernardino County's High Desert has been torn down by vandals, just days after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the religious symbol could remain -- at least temporarily -- on public land. Sometime Sunday night, the cross was taken down from its perch atop Sunrise Rock in the Mojave National Preserve, according to Liberty Institute, a group that represented veterans groups and caretakers of the cross in the recent Supreme Court Case. "This is an outrage, akin to desecrating people's graves," said institute president Kelly Shackelford. "It's a disgraceful attack on the...

This is a copy of the police report on the Bautsch/Brown assault. The narrative begins on page 4 of the pdf. file (be patient - it takes a moment to load). The report strongly suggests that the white male perpetrators were part of the protest that evening outside of Brennan's restaurant.

Last Friday night, Allee Bautsch, the chief fundraiser for Louisiana's Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, was violently assaulted, along with her boyfriend, outside of a famed New Orleans restaurant. Initial reports on the incident were murky, but Yahoo! News has learned that the attacks appear to have been politically motivated.

Human Events (developing story) : Friday evening outside of a $10,000-per-plate Republican fundraiser at Brennan’s Restaurant in New Orleans, a top fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal -- along with her boyfriend -- were assaulted as they walked to their vehicle parked two blocks away. The Hayride reports that Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on. The New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting Bautsch suffered a broken leg and Brown suffered a concussion, a broken jaw and a broken nose in the attack. Bautch required surgery over the weekend...

Top Obama funder, terrorist supporter and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans said in a radio interview last Friday night that Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) spoke with her earlier that day to express his support for Code Pink’s efforts to kidnap former adviser to President George W. Bush, Karl Rove. Jodie Evans had made an attempt to handcuff and detain Rove that afternoon at a Las Vegas book signing appearance where Rove was promoting his recently released memoir, “Courage and Consequence: My Life As a Conservative in the Fight.” This was the second attempt in recent weeks by Jodie Evans to...

Police are trying to find out who threw a flammable device at the home of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's (R) chief spokesman. Paul Senseman's wife called police around 8 a.m. Monday to report finding a bottle that officers are describing as a molotov cocktail. Peoria police spokesman Mike Tellef says the device hit the garage door and caused minor cosmetic damage but did not ignite the house or garage. Police are unsure whether Senseman's house was specifically targeted because of his work for Brewer. Tellef says police have no leads or suspects and are requesting the help of the public....

Springfield, Mass. —A cameraman working on a ballot integrity initiative with Americans for Limited Government Foundation was wrapped up in a large Martha Coakley campaign sign by her supporters as he tried to video the campaign rally. According to Erich Heyssel, who was attempting to film a Coakley campaign event, “While filming at a Martha Coakley event I was approached by two men holding a 4×8 sign. They proceeded to hold the sign up in my line of sight, I tried to move, and was continuously blocked by these men and their sign.” Heyssel continued, “The situation escalated as they...

On Tuesday night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on NBC, during an interview with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, when Maddow recounted a recent incident in which a man unsuccessfully threw a tomato at Sarah Palin at a public event at a mall, Fallon joked that it was "awful" because the thrower "didn’t come close" to hitting Palin. Fallon: "Didn’t hit her at all? Didn’t come close? Awful." Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the late Tuesday/early Wednesday, December 8th/9th Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on NBC: JIMMY FALLON: Did you hear about what’s going on with Sarah...

2009 will probably go down as the Year of Stupid. Everywhere you look you see birthers, deathers, deniers, tea fetishists, and semi-literate amateur pundits screaming and frothing over their unsupported, repeatedly debunked line of argument. They are wrong. Dead wrong. Distractingly, even dangerously wrong. And since they will not, or more likely cannot, understand this fact they go on screaming and frothing in a fruitless quest for validation. They'll disrupt town hall meetings, Congressional addresses, and children's birthday parties to remind you, just in case you allowed yourself to forget for even a moment, of just how painfully stupid they...

Skip ahead to 2:04. I believe him, actually. The uncanny sense one has listening to Matthews is that his mouth moves faster than his brain. When you’re saddled with that handicap, you’re bound to talk your way into analogies that come out … the wrong way. Besides, I think we have to grade him on the curve. By MSNBC’s standards of violent imagery over the past 24 hours, this was pretty tame.

... one starts to wonder if the country wouldn't be better off without them and if Republicans should be cut out of the health-care system entirely and simply provided with aspirin and hand sanitizer. Thirty-two percent of the population identifies with the GOP, and if we cut off health care to them, we could probably pay off the deficit in short order.

Proposition 8 Donor Maps, for San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Orange County, are now posted at EightMaps.com. Proposition 8, of course, was the proposition that amended the California Constitution to bar legal recognition of same-sex marriage. The map is built -- presumably automatically -- from the data reported by the California Secretary of State's office. (The site I linked to contains the committee id's, but if you click on the committee name, you'll see the individual contributors.) Many of the listed contributions are $50 or below...

Protestors of California's Proposition 8 (the marriage amendment) shoved aside a 69-year old woman bearing a cross, reportedly spit on her and stomped on her cross. They then aligned themselves in a human barricade, blocking the media from getting to or interviewing the elderly woman Prop. 8 supporter, Jose Nunez, 37, was brutally assaulted while distributing yard signs to other supporters after church services at the St. Stanislaus Parish in Modesto. Calvary Chapel Chino Hills was spray painted by vandals, after they learned that the church served as an official collection point for Prop 8 petitions. Letters containing white powder...

WICHITA, KS, November 13, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Two pro-life volunteers participating in a round the clock prayer vigil were sickened last week, after being exposed to fumes from an oily substance that had been spilled across the driveway at George Tiller’s late-term abortion clinic. Operation Rescue, citing a similar incident that occurred in 2007, alleges that the spilling of the substance in such close proximity to where pro-life volunteers were participating in the 40 Days for Life campaign was an intentional “chemical attack.” One of the pro-lifers, Jennifer McCoy, was treated for four hours at a local hospital emergency room...

I just talked to my wife, who is a Rhode Island delegate at the convention. The news media has not fully reported the destructive activities of the lefty activists. They have: Attacked an elderly man and put him in a wheelchair Attacked some Iowa delegates, pushed them to the ground, doused them with ammonia, and then took their credentials (thank God that they did not light them on fire). Delegates are now being told not to display their credentials except when safely inside the convention center. Destroyed the windows of an entire downtown street
