Sarah Palin's appearance on the Conan O'Brien late night show generated huge positive buzz. Even (some of) the Palin haters were hard-pressed to come up with a negative about it. This marks something of a turning point for Palin. More so than daytime media, late night shows seem to have the power to define a public persona. Usually, late night references to Palin are of the demeaning variety, most notably David Letterman's near continuous anti-Palin jihad and the Saturday Night Live Tina Fay skits mocking Palin. When Palin appeared on SNL during the campaign, the appearance was damage control, at...

Politician Sarah Palin showed she is game for a laugh when she got her own back on William Shatner for making fun of her book.

I called the teaser on ObamaCare surreal, but you know what the most surreal part of this ended up being? The sheer chumminess of it. Not that I expected a kal-if-fee between them over, say, cap and trade, but Shatner could have gone the provocateur’s route here and picked a fight if only to drum up buzz for his show. Instead, they spend very little time talking politics, just a few minutes or so on what conservatism means and how it applies to health care starting at around 5:45. The rest is devoted to growing up and personal struggles, with...

Here is a video clip of actor William Shatner interviewing Rush Limbaugh on an upcoming episode of his Biography Show "Raw Nerve," where he questioned Rush on Health Care. The two go back and forth, with Shatner asking Rush how he knows that what he says about Health Care is right. Rush responds: "It's my job. It's my life. It's my career. It's my passion." (VIDEO)

Don't care for Conan O'Brien but Shatner is a hoot reading Palin's poetic posts on Twitter (sorry about the advert--tried to remove it but failed...recommend keeping volume off until Shatner comes on stage). BTW, we are diehard Palin supporters at this blog. Video Link

William Shatner became one of the all-time nightmare guests on an American TV show after making a series of rude hand gestures at the host. Red-faced and visibly sweating the 78-year-old Star Trek actor appeared out of sorts on the long-running Tonight Show. He appeared on the programme, hosted by Conan O'Brien, to promote his biography and up-coming TV series. William Shatner Out of order: William Shatner flicked his middle finger at host Conan O'Brien during an interview on the Tonight Show in the U.S. But his behaviour got so bad at one point new host Conan O'Brien walked off...

Real 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' gravely ill June 12, 2009, 9:22 AM EST LONDON (AP) -- They were childhood chums. Then they drifted apart, lost touch completely, and only renewed their friendship decades later, when illness struck. Not so unusual, really. Except she is Lucy Vodden — the girl who was the inspiration for the Beatles' 1967 psychedelic classic "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" — and he is Julian Lennon, the musician son of John Lennon. They are linked together by something that happened more than 40 years ago when Julian brought home a drawing from school...

Guns have figured frequently in “Boston Legal,” with Denny Crane (William Shatner) using them defensively from time to time. Recently, in episode 3 of season 5 (”Dances with Wolves“), Denny fired a gun to defend himself from a robber who also had a gun. The robber was not really threatening, and as Denny’s friend and fellow partner Alan Shore (James Spader) asked him: ”Did you absolutely have to shoot [the robber]? Three times? In both feet?” Obviously the answer to all three questions was, “No.” I don’t mind the humor in these shows. In fact, I laugh along with everyone...

Just in time for Passover, the Jewish Music Group (a division of Shout Factory) has released "Exodus: An Oratorio in Three Parts," performed by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. It is conducted by David Itkin, who created and composed the Oratorio, sung by baritone Paul Rowe and includes dramatic readings from the Bible and from the haggadah, spoken by none other than Shatner... STAR Trek legend William Shatner has been offered a real-life space flight — but he won’t go boldly. Shatner — who plays fearless Kirk — says he is terrified of taking up Sir Richard Branson’s offer of joining Virgin Galactic’s first passenger flight in 2008. The actor fears he will throw up in space or the craft will crash. Shatner, 75, said yesterday: “I’m interested in man’s march into the unknown but to vomit in space is not my idea of a good time. “Neither is a fiery crash with the vomit hovering over me.” Ironically, the original TV series...

Comedian Andy Dick reportedly went berserk backstage at the Comedy Central "Roast of William Shatner" on Sunday, licking stars and biting a journalist. New York Post reporter Mandy Stadtmiller claims she watched Dick lick actresses Farrah Fawcett and Carrie Fisher and comedian Patton Oswalt before turning his attentions to her. He allegedly groped her, tried to kiss her, proclaimed his love for her and then bit her hand, telling her, "Baby, please, put in something nice. They're so mean. I'm not weird. Maybe I'm a little weird, they make me out to be a monster, I'm not a monster. I...

Question for those who watched this weeks Boston Legal. I have the distinct impression that two of the main characters, close buddies Denny Crane and Alan Shore, will soon have a 'brokeback mountain' episode. The writers have already had them sleeping in the same room on a fishing trip, then sharing a bed to combat Alan's 'night terrors'. Now Alan is moving in with Denny to comfort him through his recent marriage/divorce. The writers repeatedly use the Denny Crane character as a useful conservative idiot. This season, each episode has become more ultra-liberal agenda pushing than the next. It truly...

We're a blue state! God has no place here. Massachussetts is a blue state. God has no place here. It's a good feeling, you know, to shoot a bad guy. Something you Democrats would never understand. Americans... we're homesteaders, we want a safe home, keep the money we make, and shoot bad guys. Lock and load! There are two places to find the truth. First God and then Fox News.

The eastern Iowa town of Riverside -- whose claim to fame is that it is the future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk of "Star Trek" fame -- has been duped. William ShatnerWilliam Shatner, who played Kirk, let Riverside in on his secret Tuesday night that the town is the unwitting cast of a reality television show. Shatner originally said he chose Riverside as the location to shoot a science fiction movie he wrote called "Invasion Iowa." But now the truth is out. Shatner said the filming done in Riverside will be used for a show that will be shown...

UPN has reportedly commissioned advertisements touting William Shatner's (James T. Kirk) return to Star Trek. CBS Television City Research Center, located in Las Vegas's MGM grand hotel, is showing a commercial for Enterprise's fourth season announcing a guest appearance by Shatner, according to a post by 'Lt. Barclay' on the TrekWeb message boards. Barclay said in his report that the center previewed an episode of CBS's new comedy series, Centre of the Universe, for visitors. "During the show, a few UPN commercials were shown, including one for Enterprise," he said in his report. The Enterprise ad reportedly contained scenes from...

A BIZARRE PHENOMENON first observed in the 1940s became a crime-fiction epidemic by the 1990s. Famous entertainers, athletes, and presidential relatives began sitting down at the typewriter to bang out mystery novels. Or so they would have us believe. In truth, nearly every one of those celebrities made a deal through an agent or book packager, collected a nice advance for the use of the name, and left to a professional ghostwriter all the actual writing. Ghostwriting is a time-honored practice, and most readers surely realize that movie stars and baseball players have help with their memoirs--just as all politicians...
