Two local families are dealing with loved ones lost over the weekend due to allegedly drunk drivers. The first crash early Saturday morning in South Fairmount killed a three year old boy and leaves his mother in the hospital. The second crash late Sunday night in Hamilton killed a woman. Local 12's Rich Jaffe says there are some other unusual and sure to be controversial similarities between the cases as well. This morning, Rodolfo Temaj Felix walked into a Hamilton County courtroom for arraignment. He's charged with the hit and run accident Saturday morning that killed three year old Shakir...

A radio station's turkey-frying stunt turned into a recipe for disaster this morning when an attempt to cook the frozen bird in a van resulted in the vehicle catching fire. During a stunt for "The MJ Morning Show" on WFLZ, 93.3 FM, a grease fryer was placed inside the van, which had furniture in it that caught fire, Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Bill Wade said. WFLZ employees were supposed to lower the turkey into the van using a crane but never got a chance before flames engulfed the vehicle. MADISON, Wis. - Rather than rain or snow, or even dogs, postal workers in a West Side neighborhood near Owen Conservation Park are being pestered by wild turkeys this spring. Mara Wilhite, manager of the Hilldale Station Post Office, said she expected to deal with all manner of issues when she went to work for the U.S. Post Office. But that was not one of them. "Just when you thought you'd heard it all," she said. About five to 10 of the birds have been pecking at the postal workers as they make their rounds, and some of the birds...

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - A massive airdrop of paper birds intended to promote peace failed to halt violence in Thailand's restive south, with a spate of new attacks Monday that targeted soldiers and local officials. The bombings, shootings and arson attacks came hours after Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra said Sunday's airdrop of nearly 100 million Japanese-style origami cranes over the predominantly Muslim region had achieved an "enormous, positive psychological effect" toward peace. On Monday morning a bomb was detonated at a rest stop for patrolling soldiers. Four troops were wounded, one seriously, in Narathiwat province's Ra-ngae district. Another bomb exploded...

On June 8, 2004 we will have the opportunity to experience a very rare celestial phenomenon. So rare, in fact, that no living person has ever observed it before, since the last transit of Venus happened over 120 years ago, in 1882. We will get another chance again, however, in 2012.

Look out for rare space spectacle June 06 2004 at 04:12PM Hamburg - Tuesday's transit of Venus in front of the sun will be only the sixth such event observed by humans, and astronomers say nobody alive today has seen the phenomenon, which is barely noticeable because it only imperceptibly reduces visible sunlight. Past transits in 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874 and 1882 were monitored from Earth. Slight differences in the start and finish time were used to roughly calculate the distance of the sun from the Earth. The transit will be visible from all parts of Earth where the sun...
