So a lot of listeners have been complaining to WMAL (the only conservative radio station in Washington, DC) via their Facebook page and other mediums about Al-Jazeera commercial ads airing during programming, especially during Mark Levin's show. Is this good or bad? I mean, revenue is revenue, no? Now WMAL can't be blamed for being a 'racist' & 'bigoted' radio station -- they are airing ads for an organization that does not endear itself to WMAL's values and principles, so WMAL can't be 'that bad', right? I don't see the big deal, but maybe it's because I'm too well immersed...

This morning on "Mornings on the Mall" on WMAL-FM in Washington DC, Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) used the memory of Ronald Reagan to give himself cover for a tax increase he helped engineer. Once considered a strong contender for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, McDonnell has found himself under increasing scrutiny from allies on the right for a tax-laden transportation bill that was approved by Virginia's legislature this weekend, despite opposition from many Republicans, including the presumptive GOP nominee to succeed McDonnell, tea-party favorite Ken Cuccinelli.

WASHINGTON -- Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration. A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington...

Officials with the radio industry powerhouse Clear Channel have followed in the footsteps of a conservative Washington talk station in concluding that a message regarding the Second Amendment is “too controversial” for people in the Washington area to hear. “How ironic and maddening that the president is flying around the country, on our dime, trying to sell gun control but I can’t BUY air time to respond,” said Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Steve Vaus, creator of the Buck Howdy character. Tom Taylor via his new radio biz newsletter tells us that DC-based righty political gabber Laura Ingraham should announce her new syndication deal today. Will it be with Cumulus? That was the hallway talk at last week's Arbitron Client Conference in Annapolis. Ingraham is the second high-profile talk personality to split from Talk Radio Network. The first one was Michael Savage, and he landed at Cumulus. Ingraham joined TRN from Westwood in 2003 and was rewarded with a daytime slot instead of her previous nighttime gig.
