Several outlets including NBC are reporting that WWE CEO Linda McMahon is considering running for a Senate seat. If she goes through with it, she'd run as a Republican against Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd in 2010. McMahon has already had some political success this year as she was successfully appointed to the Connecticut State Board Of Education.

The NBA has World Wrestling Entertainment in a logistical figure-four leglock. WWE’s Monday Night Raw was scheduled for Monday, May 25, at the Pepsi Center in Denver, but the NBA has scheduled Game 4 of the Lakers-Nuggets series for that date. “Even though the Denver Nuggets had a strong team this year and were projected to make the playoffs, obviously Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke did not have enough faith in his own team to hold the May 25th date for a potential playoff game,” said WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Andrew "Test" Martin, a World Wrestling Entertainment star from earlier this decade, was found dead in his Tampa, Fla., apartment Friday night. He was 33 years old. The cause of death wasn't immediately known, the Tampa Tribune reported. Martin worked for WWE from 1998 to 2004 and 2006 to 2007. Martin was thrust into a prominent position from the onset because of his size and muscularity, with the "Test" nickname being short for "testosterone."

"Perhaps the main reason World Wrestling Entertainment laid off a number of employees this month is because Vince McMahon himself believes the economy is going to take a turn for the worst this year, mainly due to his negative reaction to Barack Obama winning the United States presidential election. Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, told the St. Petersburg Times that he had no idea his wife had filed for divorce. World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended 10 of its wrestlers for violations of a policy that tests for steroids and other drugs, the company said Thursday. Stamford-based WWE says it issued suspension notices based on independent information from the prosecutor's office in Albany County, N.Y., which has been investigating illegal steroid sales.

IN the most decisive move of its kind in the history of the wrestling business, the WWE have suspended many of their biggest name wrestlers for breaking drug rules. The action came after the 10 men – allegedly including former world champions Edge, King Booker and Randy Orton as well as Mr Kennedy and ECW champ John Morrison – were identified as clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando. JULY 2--Wrestler Chris Benoit was identified by Drug Enforcement Administration agents as an "excessive purchaser of injectable steroids" who, over the past year, was prescribed a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids every three to four weeks by a Georgia doctor who was indicted today on federal charges. IN another disturbing twist on the Chris Benoit killings, it now appears the grappler murdered his seven-year-old son using his own wrestling finishing hold.
