  • CNN under fire for linking Barcelona terrorist attack to Charlottesville

CNN suggested Thursday that the terrorist attack in Barcelona, Spain may have been inspired by the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., because both involved a vehicle running down pedestrians. The claim has drawn criticism because vehicle-ramming has been used before by Islamic extremists to carry out terrorist attacks. Investigators have not drawn any links between the incidents in Barcelona and Charlottesville.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer was anchoring the network's breaking news coverage Thursday afternoon on the possible radical Islamic terror attack in Barcelona, Spain when he made the inartful and arguably pathetic assertion that the truck attack could be "a copycat" of the neo-Nazi car attack on Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia.
  • CNN did it!!! They actually made a connection between Barcelona and Charlottesville

You can't make this up. Blitzer actually contemplated whether Barcelona was a copycat of Charlottesville.
  • David Horowitz: Charlottesville Is Biggest 'Fake News' Story of Summer

The tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia, could have been an occasion to stop and consider how the tolerance for politically correct violence and politically correct hatred is leading the nation toward civil war. Instead, the media and the political left have turned this incident into the biggest fake news story of the summer, transforming its real lessons into a morality play that justifies war against the political right, and against white people generally. The organizers of the "Unite the Right" demonstration in Charlottesville were repellent racists. But they came to defend a historic monument honoring a complex man and cause, and...

  • In new poll, half of Republicans say they would support postponing '20 election if Trump proposed it

Critics of President Trump have repeatedly warnedof his potential to undermine American democracy. Among the concerns are his repeated assertions that he would have won the popular vote had 3 to 5 million “illegals” not voted in the 2016 election, a claim echoed by the head of a White House advisory committee on voter fraud. Claims of large-scale voter fraud are not true, but that has not stopped a substantial number of Republicans from believing them. But how far would Republicans be willing to follow the president to stop what they perceive as rampant fraud? Our recent survey suggests that the...

  • Reporters Committee condemns President Trump's statement of violence against the press

    07/02/2017 4:49:31 PM PDT · by Beave Meister · 43 replies
On Sunday, President Donald Trump made a public statement on Twitter that glorified physical violence against members of the press. Bruce Brown, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, made the following statement: "We condemn the president's threat of physical violence against journalists. This tweet is beneath the office of the presidency. Sadly, it is not beneath this president. "No one should be threatened with physical harm for doing their jobs. Journalists are your neighbors, they're your friends. Journalists perform a critical function in our society, one the Founding Fathers felt was so necessary that they...

Reporters at the New York Times could soon be “vulnerable” to the ax. If the ongoing round of voluntary buyouts being offered to editing staff does not get enough takers, the Gray Lady could begin another round, NYT Executive Editor Dean Baquet recently warned his top department editors. “Up until now, the company had not indicated that layoffs would happen if targeted numbers weren’t achieved,” Grant Glickson, president of the NewsGuild, told Media Ink. As part of the NYT’s ongoing restructuring of its editing ranks, 109 copy editors have had their jobs eliminated. There are estimated to be about 50...

Washington Post reporter Cleve Wootson was recently given the responsibility of reporting on a lawsuit in which I am involved. The story he was assigned to write is actually quite simple. A California university unconstitutionally denied a student group’s request for funding to host a conservative speaker (me) on their campus. The decision to deny funding was a blatant case of viewpoint discrimination that is supported by a mountain of evidence. Thus, Wootson had an easy story to write if he simply stuck to the facts. Instead, his article wound up being a masterpiece of bad journalism.Wootson begins his article...

The Associated Press will no longer employ Melanie Plenda, a leftist activist exposed by Breitbart News, after she was caught violating the news wire service’s editorial standards. Plenda announced that the AP has terminated her effective immediately in an interview with the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple. Her termination comes as a Nov. 10, 2016, Facebook post she wrote—in which she pledged resistance to then-incoming President Donald J. Trump—was found to be in direct violation of the AP’s editorial standards. Plenda, in her interview with Wemple, confirmed she wrote the leftist activist post on her Facebook page—a post she has since...

During a softball interview on CNN Tuesday afternoon, Steven Goldstein, director of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect bashed and lambasted President Donald Trump for his statement this morning denouncing bigotry, espcially anti-Semitism, and pinned recent Jew hatred on Trump's campaign, and now, administration. Beforehand, a panel on the network's Inside Politics discussed Trump's campaign and presidency's possible affect on hate crimes against Jews. On CNN Newsroom With Brooke Baldwin Goldstein said, "Our president is creating an incubator of hatred. When you don't respond to anti-Semitism as well as Islamophobia and racism in a real time, when you wait days and sometimes week to respond to attacks, you are sending a signal to the haters...

Not all Fox News hosts are Republican lemmings. Take Shepard Smith, who has been carving out a name for himself as a voice of dissension at the network, speaking out against President Trump with growing regularity. He took his disapproval to new heights on Thursday, deriding Trump shortly after his first solo presidential press conference. “Your opposition was hacked and the Russians were responsible for it and your people were on the phone with Russia on the same day it was happening and we’re fools for asking the questions? No, sir,” Smith said on air. “It’s crazy what we’re watching...

The New York Times features reporter reprimanded by his editors for referring to first lady Melania Trump as a "hooker," took to Twitter Tuesday to out himself, take responsibility for his mistake and apologize for his "stupid" remark. "I want to take ownership of a mistake I made," Jacob Bernstein said in the first of four tweets. Bernstein, 38, is the son of legendary Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein and his second wife, the late journalist-turned-Hollywood filmmaker/screenwriter, Nora Ephron. He said his editors made it clear that this was not in keeping with Times standards, "and I agree." He concluded by apologizing "profusely."...

by Brooke Bosca | Top Right NewsTalk of a Trump "scandal" hit the Washington and New York press corps this weekend, as "bombshell" videos of President Trump's father Fred Trump "emerged" showing "racist" ads the elder Trump made during a 1969 run for Mayor of New York City. The videos were shared by The Washington Post's fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, on Twitter, and quickly spread by re-tweets by reporters from multiple publications. Here's the report describes the "ads": In 1969, Fred Trump plotted to run for mayor of New York … He made two test television commercials. One of them, called ‘Dope Man’, featured...

The fake news problem is really getting out of control. Donald Trump was sworn in as President on 20th January, and in just two weeks he has already set back women’s rights dramatically. He has restricted women’s reproductive rights, cut funding to international organizations who promote, provide and advise on abortions, and just yesterday it was revealed that he’s planning an executive order to declare pre-marital sex, same-sex marriage and abortion to be wrong. Because that's how executive orders work. Of course this isn't the kind of fake news the media tackles. Instead it's the kind that it winkingly distributes.

A majority of Americans disapprove of President Trump's work during his first week in the White House - breaking a record of how long it generally takes the majority of Americans to disapprove of a president. On Saturday, 51 percent of Americans disapproved of Trump, a Gallup poll found. The poll tracks daily approval ratings for Trump by surveying 1,500 Americans. It took just eight days to reach these ratings. It took at least several hundred days for the majority of Americans to disapprove of past presidents.
