(IsraelNN.com) Professor Richard Dawkins, a senior British evolutionary scientist and outspoken atheist, drew fire on Monday for saying that Jews “more or less monopolize American foreign policy.” Religious Jews are a small group, Dawkins said, but are “fantastically successful” in lobbying the US government. Dawkins, who is currently in the US in an attempt to promote atheism and fight religious influence, expressed hope that atheists would be similarly successful in determining government policy. A number of Jewish leaders responded immediately, with ADL head Abe Foxman calling Dawkin’s remarks “classic anti-Semitism.” Malcom Hoenlein, a senior official in the Conference of Presidents...

Paul faithful flock to Spartanburg appearance A little-known Texas congressman seeking the Republican nomination for president visited Spartanburg on Saturday and seemed to arrive with all the makings of rock-star candidate for his party — despite polling low, little name recognition and a relatively small campaign staff. Supporters call it the “Ron Paul Revolution.” You might’ve seen it on signs or T-shirts. Or MySpace. Paul received no less than 16 standing ovations during his hour-plus speech and question-and-answer session at the Summit Pointe Event Center — first, when he entered the room, a second one when a re-entered after...

NEW YORK A feature piece in this coming Sunday's New York Times Magazine on Republican candidate for president, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, portrays his followers as including a wild mix of "wackos" on both ends of the political spectrum. Paul, a libertarian, has been gaining media and public attention of late. The cover line reads: "A Genuine Radical for President." The headline inside: "The Antiwar, Anti-Abortion, Anti-Drug-Enforcement-Administration, Anti-medicare Candidacy of Dr. Ron Paul." The article closes with the author, Christopher Caldwell, attending a Ron Paul Meetup in Pasadena. The co-host, Connie Ruffley of United Republicans of California, admits she...

George Tenet sets the stage in his memoir by recalling a conversation he claims to have had with me on Sept. 12, 2001: "As I walked beneath the awning that leads to the West Wing[, I] saw Richard Perle exiting the building just as I was about to enter. . . . Perle turned to me and said, 'Iraq has to pay a price for what happened yesterday. They bear responsibility.' I looked back at Perle and thought: Who has [he] been meeting with in the White House so early in the morning on today of all days?" But I...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The billionaire investor George Soros has added his voice to a heated but little-noticed debate over the role of Israel's powerful lobby in shaping Washington policy in a way critics say hurts U.S. national interests and stifles debate. In the current issue of the New York Review of Books, Soros takes issue with "the pervasive influence of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)" in Washington and says the Bush administration's close ties with Israel are obstacles to a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians. Soros, who is Jewish but not often engaged in Israel affairs,...

A new study, claiming that the pro-Israel lobby in America caused the United States to skew its Middle East policy in favor of Israel, is stirring controversy in the pro and anti-Israel communities in the US. The 81-page report, written by John J. Mearsheimer and Stephen M. Walt for the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, argues that the pro-Israel lobby in the US managed to convince American lawmakers, officials and US public opinion to support Israel, even though this support runs counter to America's own national interests. "The overall thrust of US policy in the region is due...

How many Americans have "suspected ties to terrorist groups" to be "eavesdropping" as deemed appropriate by Bush’s admin? May be we first need to define the term "terrorist group". The U.S. President George W. Bush maintains that the "insider threats" originate from the American populace, not those Americans who oppose Iraq and challenged his justification for launching this illegal war. Bush and those Machiavellians in the White House have offered up a "proposal" to "transform CIFA from an office that coordinates Pentagon security efforts—including protecting military facilities from attack—to one that also has authority to investigate crimes within the United...

On the surface there would seem to be little to unite the Aryan racialists of the neo-Nazi movement with the terrorists of radical Islam. To the neo-Nazis, Muslims are almost all members of ``inferior`` races; and to the Islamic terrorists, the neo-Nazis are almost without exception either atheists or members of fringe quasi-Christian sects. But the reality is that there has been close cooperation between Muslim extremists and Fascists ever since the founding of the Nazi movement in the 1920`s. For all of their differences, Muslim extremists and Nazis have always been united by a common group of beliefs and...

Queen Susan of Albania TIRANA, Albania (AP) - Queen Susan, the wife of the self-proclaimed heir to Albania's throne, died of lung cancer Saturday, said a spokesman for the royal family. She was 63. She was born in Australia as Susan Cullen-Ward. In 1975, she married Leka Zog, the only son of the late King Ahmet Zog. The royal family lived in exile after fleeing Albania in 1939 when Italy's fascist regime occupied the country. The family returned in June 2002 after 74 members of parliament invited it back. The king died in Paris in 1961. Albania's communist rulers abolished...

Ralph Nader Calls Israel a "Puppeteer" 12:30 Jun 30, '04 / 11 Tammuz 5764 (IsraelNN.com) On Tuesday, as broadcast on the American cable network C-Span, independent presidential candidate and environmental crusader Ralph Nader said the following: "What has been happening over the years is a predictable routine of foreign visitation from the head of the Israeli government. The Israeli puppeteer travels to Washington. The Israeli puppeteer meets with the puppet in the White House, and then moves down Pennsylvania Avenue, and meets with the puppets in Congress. And then takes back billions of taxpayer dollars. It is time for the...

"I am not a bigot but we have to face facts. Working on my readers' behalf I have come up with a carefully researched list of the four most influential foreign policy advisers to President Bush. What they share in common is the belief the U.S. has the right to protect itself from its enemies. And half of them are black…" Now, no matter where a writer goes from there, unless it is some sort of lame observation about how President Bush has embraced diversity, he is going to look like a wanker. Why? Because, whatever a writer has to...

from the June 18, 2002 edition - http://www.csmonitor.com/2002/0618/p02s01-ussc.html US extremists conflicted over war on terrorRight-wing radicals fret over 'homeland security,' as American anti-Semitism rises.By Brad Knickerbocker | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor ASHLAND, ORE. - The war on terrorism is conflicting for antigovernment radicals in the United States. Paradoxically, it has the potential for both dampening their sentiments and making them more dangerous – rhetorically, if nothing else. Extreme militia and "patriot" types (especially white supremacists of the Christian Identity movement) are likely to want to defend against attack by non-European foreigners – and in fact see...
