McCain presidential campaign strategist Steve Schmidt went on the record with the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz today, revealing the depths to which the mainstream media has sunk in their efforts to destroy the family of Republican vice presidential pick Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.Schmidt said that the campaign has been deluged with demands from reporters that the Palin family submit to DNA testing to assuage baseless rumors promulgated by the Democratic party's favorite website, the Daily Kos.Schmidt accused the media of being "on a mission to destroy" Sarah Palin.Kurtz writes that Markos Moulitsas, the founder of the Daily Kos, believes the...

by Richard Lawrence Poe Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Permanent LinkPast Columns DEMOCRAT BLOGGER Markos Moulitsas Zuñíga never fails to bewilder. He proclaims his humble origins, yet his family is rich. He heckles Hillary Clinton, yet helps her where it counts. He boasts of completing a six-month screening for CIA employment -- but says he turned down the job for no very good reason. His fans call him "Kos". His DailyKos blog draws more than half a million visits per day, reportedly generating sufficient advertising revenue to support the Kos family in style. Kos' followers -- called "Kossacks" -- include...

Al Qaeda 'Re-Emerging' in Pakistan Sanctuaries The U.S. military said Tuesday it expected Al Qaeda to continue its "re-emergence" in sanctuaries in Pakistan's tribal areas from where it supported attacks in Afghanistan. Sanctuary was provided to Al Qaeda and Taliban rebels after Islamabad signed a peace deal with militants in a desperate attempt to quell the unrest in its federally administered areas in September 2006, a U.S. military official said. The militants called off the deal in July this year after Pakistani security forces raided a radical mosque in Islamabad where rebels had massed. Dozens were killed in those...

WASHINGTON, (AP) -- DailyKos, an influential political Web site that serves as a virtual bulletin board for liberals, qualifies as a media entity exempt from federal campaign finance regulations, the Federal Election Commission said Tuesday. The FEC said the Web site, operated by blogger Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, cannot be regulated as a political committee and can freely post blog entries that support candidates. Conservative blogger John C.A. Bambenek had argued in a complaint last month that the site should comply with campaign finance laws because such entries amounted to "a gift of free advertising and candidate media services." The FEC...

Markos Moulitsas Zuniga (AKA Kos) has a reputation as an ideologue and a bomb-thrower. I wish this were true, since he succeeds in helping Democrats win elections. He also raises enough money and attracts enough attention to keep liberal memes afloat, even when they lose. Alas, this isn’t the case. Kos is far worse. He’s a power-monger with no ideas. Kos openly admits this. He once said he was not trying to be the next Jesse Jackson. What he meant was that he was a political tactician, rather than a movement philosopher. He describes himself as being all about winning....

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 19, 2006 Contact: Robert Dixon (916) 441- 6197B L O G S H O C K E R ! Daily Kos Embraces Pro-Troop “Move America Forward” (SAN FRANCISCO) – Liberal blogger Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, founder of the popular left-of-center blog, DailyKos.com, has just returned from his first annual “YearlyKos” convention by embracing a surprising mantra: that of the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward (website: http://www.MoveAmericaForward.org). In a posting headlined “Move America Forward” the blogger “Kos”...

The liberal challenge to Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.) escalated Friday when the political arm of MoveOn.org, an influential online advocacy group, endorsed the political newcomer opposing his bid for renomination. Gaining the support of MoveOn's political action committee was Ned Lamont, a businessman who wants to unseat Lieberman largely because of the veteran lawmaker's staunch support for the war in Iraq. The group announced its backing after polling MoveOn's members in Connecticut. MoveOn has emerged as a leading voice for left-leaning activists, and the endorsement marks the first time that its PAC has sought to unseat an incumbent Democratic senator....

Howard Dean's presidential campaign hired two Internet political "bloggers" as consultants so that they would say positive things about the former governor's campaign in their online journals, according to a former high-profile Dean aide. Zephyr Teachout, the former head of Internet outreach for Mr. Dean's campaign, made the disclosure earlier this week in her own Web log, Zonkette. She said "to be very clear, they never committed to supporting Dean for the payment -- but it was very clearly, internally, our goal." The hiring of the consultants was noted in several publications at the time. (snip) The partisan Democratic political...

One of the bloggers who has been granted accreditation to attend the Democratic National Convention is Markos Moulitsas Zuniga: Convention bloggers named. (Hat tip: Best of the Web Today.)In case you’ve forgotten, Zuniga is the foul-mouthed, black-hearted creep who watched four of his fellow Americans burned alive, torn apart by a mob, and hung from a bridge—and then wrote on his blog, “Screw them,” to a chorus of approving comments from his sycophantic fellow haters. But this isn’t enough to disqualify him for the DNC, apparently, even though John F. Kerry removed the link to Daily Kos from his official campaign...

It's no wonder the Left continues to lose support across this country. When it's most popular site is The Daily Hate of Kos, it's easy to understand. Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, better known as Kos, is the wannabe leader of the internet left. Perhaps he's best known around the country, and world, for his disparaging remarks regarding the 4 civilian contractors killed in Fallujah, (the infamous "Screw them" post), Kos has continued to fill the left with hate regarding anything on the right. Left-wing Democrats pout and complain when Americans call them the blame-America-first crowd, but here's an excellent example of how they have earned this reputation. Out in La-La Land, El Cerrito Democratic Club announced that for its meeting this week it would "again welcome Markos Moulitsas Zuniga," this time to speak on "The Future of the Democratic Party: Does It Even Have One?" If you're lucky you've never heard of Zuniga. Remember the four American contractors murdered and dismembered by Muslim terrorists and left hanging from a bridge in Fallujah? He's the Democrat activist who cheered them on. "I feel nothing...

With Reach Comes Responsibility; Liberal 'Blogger' Crosses Line with Recent Statements By Bobby Eberle April 5, 2004 With today's technology, access to the Internet has become the rule rather than the exception. It is easier than ever to "surf the net," and setting up and maintaining a web site, an endeavor once reserved for "techno geeks," has become an activity enjoyed by millions of people across the country. With these advances in access and technology, web sites pushing issues on both ends of the political spectrum are popping up like mushrooms. Some of the rantings on these sites border on...
