"Finally a renewable source of virgins..."
ericthecurdog's 2005 quote of the year candidate from Freeper Right Wing Professor:
On the other hand, what do you do with a degree in Ethnic Studies?
"Want fries with that, white oppressor?"
ericthecurdog's 2004 quote of the year candidate from Freeper red6 on so called 'public sentiment' on Iraq:
"THE ONLY VARIABLE where the US is vulnerable is in perception and poular opinions. Win the information war against the US and even after restoring electricity BEYOND prewar levels, schools up and running, universities running, hospitals all open, aid being delivered, Police being trained and used, A New Iraqi Army being trained and equiped, bridges being repaired, cell phones and internet now being available for the first time, an operational court system that is NOT a kangaroo court, water treatment working better than ever. Even all of this is NOT as spectacular or eye catching as one burning truck."
"So while the US has won a war with UNPRECIDENTED SUCCESS in size and scale around the globe. Even though the US IS succeeding in building the Infrastructure back, setting things up for TRUE self governance and fighting off an insugency at the same time where all little ankle biters are coming out of the holes. The little oportunistic diseases like Sadr that wait right before elections in the US and Iraq while timing it with a major troop rotation in the hope of gaining some influence in the future. While the US is dealing with all of this AND succeeding mind you, some in the media want to paint a grim picture or somehow define this as a failure with a self derived definition of what failure and success is."
"No one said it would be easy nor cheap nor without bloodshed. We're there, we stay, we win. The only way the US will loose is if the US public pulls it's support out for this. The US public IS the determining factor in this war!"
ericthecurdog's 2003 quote of the year candidate from Freeper Capriole on W's 2003 visit accross the pond:
"I find this a fascinating phenomenon. Members of the European/English elite would never be so condescending to a visiting dignitary from, let us say, some African nation in which it is the custom for the king to go about half-naked and wear feathers on his head. None of them would make derogatory comments if his English were not spoken in the "received pronunciation." And the English have historically been courteous to Russian leaders who wore shapeless suits and had the manners of oafs."
"But here is a distinguished statesman wearing an evidently elegant suit, a man educated at the finest universities in the world, a man who has with great success run a state larger and more economically powerful than all but five nations on earth, and now runs the greatest nation the world has yet seen. Yet they express contempt for him on grounds of his unpretentious manners. This is the behavior of schoolgirls, silly, petty, and consumed with pathetic envy. One can but pity them for their own poor manners."
The Creation of Florida
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him resting on the seventh day. He inquires of God, "Where have you been?
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downward through the clouds. "Look, Michael, look what I've made."
Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, " and I've put life on it. I'm going to call it earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."
"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of the earth. "For example, Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while Africa is going to be poor." God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot while this one will be very cold and covered with ice."
The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a large emerald land mass with perfect, blue waters for borders and said, "What's that one?"
"Ah," said God "that's Florida, the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful beaches, rivers, lakes and climate. The people from Florida are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous, and they are going to be found traveling the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking and high achieving people and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace."
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then exclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there would be balance! Everyone and everything seems so totally perfect in this place you call Florida!"
God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the idiots I'm sending down from the North every winter!"
Franklin Roosevelt (democrat) led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.
Harry Truman (democrat) finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.
John Kennedy (democrat) started the Vietnam conflict. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
Bill Clinton (democrat) went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama attacked us on multiple occasions.
In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush (Republican) has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." --President Bill Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." --President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998
"Iraq is a long way from [here], but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face." --Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." --Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." Letter to President Clinton, signed by: -- Democratic Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others, Oct. 9, 1998
"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." -Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998
"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." -- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999
"There is no doubt that ... Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies." Letter to President Bush, Signed by: -- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), and others, Dec 5, 2001
"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them." -- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." -- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002
"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." -- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002
"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002
"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do" -- Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." -- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." -- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003
