Many of the truths that we cling to depend on our point of view.
Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they are yours.
--from the handbook for a reluctant messiah.
Do or do not.
There is no try.
These six [things] doth the Lord hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
You know what's wrong with scientific power?" Malcolm said.
Its a form of inherited wealth. And you know what assholes congenitally rich people are. It never fails."
Hammond said, "What is he talking about?
Harding made a sign, indicating delirium. Malcolm cocked his eye.
I will tell you what I am talking about," he said.
"Most kinds of power require a substantial sacrifice by whoever wants the power.
There is an apprenticeship, a discipline lasting many years.
Whatever kind of power you want. President of the company. Black belt in karate. Spiritual guru.
Whatever it is you seek, you have to put in the time, the practice, the effort.
You must give up a lot to get it. It has to be very important to you.
And once you have attained it, its your power. It can't be given away: it resides in you.
It is literally the result of your discipline.
Now what is interesting about this process is that,
by the time someone has acquired the ability to kill with his bare hands,
he has also matured to the point where he won't use it unwisely.
So that kind of power has a built-in control.
The discipline of getting the you so that you won't abuse it.
But scientific power is like inherited wealth: attained without discipline.
You read what others have done, and you take the next step.
You can do it very young. You can make progress very fast.
There is no discipline lasting many decades.
There is no mastery: old scientists are ignored.
There is no humility before nature.
There is only a get-rich-quick, make-a-name-for-yourself-fast philosophy.
Cheat, lie, falsify--it doesn't matter. Not to you, or to your colleagues.
No one will criticize you. No one has any standards.
They all trying to do the same thing: to do something big, and do it fast.
And because you can stand on the shoulders of giants, you can accomplish something quickly.
You don't even-know exactly what you have done, but already you have reported it; patented it, and sold it.
And the buyer will have even less discipline than you. The buyer simply purchases the power, like any commodity.
The buyer doesnt even conceive that any discipline might be necessary.
Hammond said, "Do you know what he is talking about?"
I haven't a clue; Hammond said.
Ill make it simple. Malcolm said.
"A karate master does not kill people with his bare hands. He does not lose his temper and kill his wife.
The person who kills is the person who has no discipline no restraint,
and who has purchased his power in the form of a Saturday night special.
And that is the kind of power that science fosters, and permits.
And that is why you think that to build a place like this is simple."
"It was simple," Hammond insisted.
'Then why did it go wrong?"

People had more than they needed,
people didn't know what was precious and what wasn't,
people threw away things they kill each other for now.
- the Book of Eli
Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags,
because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.
The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this 'green thing' back in my earlier days."
The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today."
"Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations."
She was right -- our generation didn't have the 'green thing' in its day.
Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store.
The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled,
so it could use the same bottles over and over.
They really were recycled.
But we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.
Grocery stores bagged our groceries in brown paper bags, that we reused for numerous things.
Most memorable besides household garbage bags, was the use of brown paper bags as book covers for our schoolbooks.
This was to ensure that public property, (the books provided for our use by the school) was not defaced by our scribbling.
Then we were able to personalize our books on the brown paper bags.
But too bad we didn't do the "green thing" back then.
We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building.
We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.
But she was right. We didn't have the "green thing" in our day.
Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throwaway kind.
We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy-gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days.
Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.
But that young lady is right; we didn't have the "green thing" back in our day.
Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room.
And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana.
In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us.
When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.
Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn.
We used a push mower that ran on human power.
We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.
But she's right; we didn't have the "green thing" back then.
We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water.
We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen,
and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.
But we didn't have the "green thing" back then.
Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked,
instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service in the family's $45,000 SUV or van,
which cost what a whole house did before the "green thing."
We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances.
And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 23,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest burger joint.
But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the "green thing" back then?
Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smartass young person...
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to piss us off...
especially coming from a tattooed, multiple pierced smartass who can't make change without the cash register telling them how much.
--Email, Author unknown.
(The thing I dont understand is how generations who grew up living life as we, our parents and grandparents did raised these "tattooed and multiple pierced smartasses who cant make change without a machine telling them how." How did we get here from there? How did this happen? Somehow I don't think Common Core is going to make it better.)
No one can enter a strong mans house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism.
But under the name of "liberalism" they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program,
until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.
Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either [aristocracy or monarchy]. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.

The difference between a welfare state and a totalitarian state is a matter of time.
Ayn Rand (1905-1982)
From "Where is your America?" by Libor Brom, IMPRIMIS; Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, Michigan, 49242 Vol 11, No. 8., August 1982The fact is that we live in a time of fateful challenges. As a people and a nation we are under test. This challenge is, of course, Marxism-Leninism. There is no mystery in its strategies and tactics. It has always been concrete and spelled out in black and white. It has also been openly and actively tested in the economic, political, and ideological struggle for control around globe.--Libor Brom, August 1982. (Emeritus professor of Russian studies and Eastern European expert at the University of Denver, served as president of the World Representation of Czechoslovak Exiles and chairman of the Czech World Union.)
Lenin, the founder of the first Communist state, put it simply:"First we will take Eastern Europe, then the masses of Asia. We will encircle the last bastion of capitalism, the United States of America. We will not need to fight. It will fall as a ripe fruit into our hands."And,"We must practice coexistence with other nations, until we are strong enough to take over by means of world revolution.... We are not pacifists. Conflict is inevitable. Great political questions can be solved only through violence.... It is inconceivable that Communism and capitalism can exist side by side. Inevitably one must perish."
Rykov, Lenin's successor in the Council of Soviet Commissars, corroborated:"It is our duty to inculcate in the minds of nations the theories of international friendship, pacifism, and disarmament, encouraging their resistance to military appropriations and training, without ever relaxing our own efforts in building our military equipment."
Manuilsky, a prominent Soviet professor at the School of Political Warfare, said:"The bourgeoisie will have to be put to sleep. We shall begin by Launching the most spectacular peace movement on record. There will be electrifying overtures and unheard-of concessions. The capitalist countries, stupid and decadent, will rejoice to cooperate in their own destruction. They will leap at another chance to be friends."
And Khrushchev, a more contemporary Soviet prime minister, said:"We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find out they have Communism."
Today, Marxism-Leninism represents a most complex and powerful doctrine developed by Communist theoreticians and practitioners in every corner of the world. Its universal library offers dynamic political weapons and comprehensive theories, diversified approaches and seductive slogans.
On one side of the globe, there is the Yugoslav moderate theory of reformed Communism and participative economy which lures masses into socialism.
On the other side of the earth there are Chinese slogans which are more productive in inflaming a Communist revolution.
Marxism-Leninism is particularly effective on the semantic level where it exhibits a devastating duality. It lulls its adversaries to sleep, while at the same time it mobilizes its followers to revolutionary action.
The Communist International's Seventh Congress concluded that open use of revolutionary terminology does not promote the Marxist-Leninist drive for world domination. Therefore, "revolution" has been changed into "liberation," "world conquest by the proletariat" has been changed into "peace and socialism," "armed seizure of power and liquidation of the bourgeoisie" has been rephrased to read "peaceful and gradual transition to socialism."
Even the word "Communism," which every revolutionary is so proud of, has been changed into "progressive", "anti-Fascist" or "liberal." Further, to confuse their adversaries, the Marxist-Leninists have devised a new language which uses old words in the basic vocabulary.
When they say "imperialism arouses the wrath of the people and digs its own grave," they mean "through our manipulation of the local Communist parties, and with a vast auxiliary corps of dupes and sympathizers, we so arrange matters that the free enterprise system and democracy are destroyed from within. All we need to do is push it into the grave."
Thus, the free, complacent, conscience-stricken, guilt-ridden, sex-sodden, drug-driven, decadent, and often antagonistic societies have been manipulated by goal-oriented, dedicated, and shrewd Marxist-Leninist dialectics into a notorious period of so-called peaceful coexistence and plain overt hostilities.
Communist Goals (1963)
Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963
EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA
IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Thursday, January 10, 1963
Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.
At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from " The Naked Communist ", by Cleon Skousen:
Current Communist Goals (1963)
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.
How To Create a Social State
(by Saul Alinsky?)
There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.1) Healthcare - Control healthcare and you control the people.
2) Poverty - Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
3) Debt - Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
4) Gun Control - Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.
5) Welfare - Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).
6) Education - Take control of what people read and listen to - take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion - Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.
8) Class Warfare - Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
Do you think that we want those laws to be observed? We want them broken.
Theres no way to rule innocent men. The only power the government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there arent enough criminals one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.
Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, 1957
History... is, indeed, little more than the register of the 'crimes, follies, and misfortunes' of mankind. But what experience and history teach is this - that peoples and governments have never learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it.
~Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, The Philosophy of History, "Introduction," 1807
When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion
when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing
when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors
when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws dont protect you against them, but protect them against you
when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice
you may know that your society is doomed.
Ayn Rand (1905-1982) Franciscos Money Speech, Atlas Shrugged, 1957
The effects of human wickedness are written on the page of history in characters of blood: but the impression soon fades away; so more blood must be shed to renew it.
~Augustus William Hare and Julius Charles Hare, Guesses at Truth, by Two Brothers, 1827
[I]t was that there are no simple lessons in history, that it is human nature that repeats itself, not history.
Delusion about history is a serious matter; it can gravely affect the history that is waiting to be made.
History supplies little beyond a list of those who have accommodated themselves with the property of others.
~Voltaire, Philosophical Dictionary

Christianity is a statement which, if false, is of no importance, and, if true, is of infinite importance.
The one thing it cannot be is moderately important.
No human, natural or preternatural agency can destroy the Church or Christian civilisation;
when evil becomes unbearable to the individual who trusts God, or to society, God will work a miracle if necessary to overcome it.

give no more signs, You said it to the Pharisees; he said this when I
said that this guidance (message) is from You.
Vassula, when I said this to the Pharisees I meant My miracles of
the time I was in flesh and among them; condemning Me now, for it is
to condemn My Heavenly Works, shows how arid and closed their
hearts have become; My signs will never end; My Presence will be felt
in the world and I will continue to show Myself in signs;
believe, believe O men of little faith, do not distort My Word, for
what have you to say about Fatima; are you dreading to believe that I
am the One who gave you this sign? O men of little faith, what would
you not declare rather than accept that Heavens signs are from Me!
love my My Works, accept My Works; believe, believe in Me, I, who am
Infinite Wealth and Mercy; My signs are so that all men see that Love
has not forgotten you; Love has not withdrawn and glories in His
Glory; Love is among you, never leaving you;
-------------Mari Loli: "When Russia will unexpectedly and suddenly overrun and overwhelm a great part of the free world. God does not want this to happen so quickly. In any case the Warning will come when you will see that Holy Mass cannot be celebrated freely anymore; then it will be that the world will most need the intervention of God."
For our further reflection, keeping in mind that prophecy is a charism of the papacy, is this quote from Blessed Pius IX:
"There will come a great sign that will fill the world with awe. But this will occur only after the triumph of a revolution during which the Church will undergo ordeals which are beyond description."
We don't know when all this will happen, but Albrecht Weber's book contains this statement attributed to Conchita.
Conchita(?): "The pope will go to Russia, to Moscow. As soon as he returns to the Vatican, hostilities will break out in different parts of Europe.
[The source for this information was also requested: Mr. Weber responded: "Conchita said this in a long conversation at her house on November 14, 1965.]
There are only two kinds of people in the end:
those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'Thy will be done.'
The life of a nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.
If you are part of a society that votes, then do so.
There may be no candidates and no measures you want to vote for, but there are certain to be ones you want to vote against.
In case of doubt, vote against.
By this rule you will rarely go wrong.
If this is too blind for your taste, consult some well-meaning fool (there is always one around) and ask his advice.
Then vote the other way.
This enables you to be a good citizen (if such is your wish)
without spending the enormous amount of time on it that truly intelligent exercise of franchise requires.
--Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love
Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom.
As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.
And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?
Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?...The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalins thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!
If...if...we didnt love freedom enough. And even more we had no awareness of the real situation....We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.
--Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn - The Gulag Archipelago

UNITED NATIONS' WORLD CONSTITUTION:
"...The age of nations must end....The governments of the nations have decided to order their separate sovereignities into one government to which they surrender their arms."
"Parties will destroy the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion [the committeeman process],
Parties are destructive to the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities,
Parties open the door to foreign influence and corruption, thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
Parties serve to organize division,
will ruin public liberty,
stifles, controls, represses,
foment occasional riots & insurrection,
kindle animosity of one part against another,
puts in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party,
agitates the community with ill founded jealousies & false alarms,
works to undermine the Constitution which could not be directly overthrown,
serves to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration,
drives the spirit of revenge
leads to despotism."
"Parties are truly your worst enemy."
"I have always given it as my decided opinion that no nation has a right to intermeddle in the internal concerns of another;
that every one has a right to form and adopt whatever government they liked best to live under themselves;
and that if this country could, consistently with its engagements, maintain a strict neutrality and thereby preserve peace,
it was bound to do so by motives of policy, interest, and every other consideration."
--George Washington, from Letter to James Monroe, August 25,1796
"The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is, in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible.
So far as we have already formed engagements let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith.
Here let us stop."

Vassula of My Sacred Heart, you have heard Me
whisper in your ear, I want to show you in Timothy I
and II everything that has been predicted for the last
days of your era; My creation has degenerated and has
fallen lower than the Sodomites; Darkness came upon
them as a deadly veil, sent by Satan; Satan has sent
many false teachers, false prophets who appear today
as philosophers, teaching dogmas which do not come
from Me your Lord, and My children, blinded by their
ignorance, fall into these traps set up by Satan; I wish
that these parts of Timothy be read in public as a
warning: 1 Timothy 4:1-16, and 6:20-21 and 2
Timothy 2:14-26; these prophecies were especially
pronounced for your times; then in 2 Timothy 3:1-17
in this passage it foretells the state of your era, to be
found now; for these are the last days before the end of
solemnly, I request from you all to redouble your
prayers for a 'come back'; My Sacred Heart is open for
any soul who will repent and who wills to return to Me;

Repealing Roe v. Wade would be a good first step to a long-term national recovery and survival plan:but alas for him who did not fear Me! alas for him who never saw wickedness as folly and foolishness as madness! alas for the heart who believed that he could reach the zenith of his strength by his own efforts and without Me! alas for him who has not obeyed My Commandments! alas for him whose heart is filled with malice! alas for the jackal that plotted by night! alas for him who judged his brother and caused him to live in terror! alas for the lips that bore false-witness! alas for those who shed innocent blood of unborn infants! your compensation shall be hell!Alas For Those Who Shed Innocent Blood Of Unborn Infants! Natural-Born Citizen Defined
One universal point most all early publicists agreed on was natural-born citizen must mean one who is a citizen by no act of law. If a person owes their citizenship to some act of law (naturalization for example), they cannot be considered a natural-born citizen. This leads us to defining natural-born citizen under the laws of nature laws the founders recognized and embraced.
Under the laws of nature, every child born requires no act of law to establish the fact the child inherits through nature his/her fathers citizenship as well as his name (or even his property) through birth. This law of nature is also recognized by law of nations. Sen. Howard said the citizenship clause under the Fourteenth Amendment was by virtue of natural law and national law.
The advantages of Natural Law is competing allegiances between nations are not claimed, or at least with those nations whose custom is to not make citizens of other countries citizens without their consent. Under Sec. 1992 of U.S. Revised Statutes (1866) made clear other nations citizens would not be claimed:All persons born in the United States and not subject to any foreign power, excluding Indians not taxed, are declared to be citizens of the United States.
Rep. John A. Bingham commenting on Section 1992 said it means every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural born citizen. (Cong. Globe, 39th, 1st Sess., 1291 (1866))
