“The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.”

John Buchanan (1915)

“Every man has a fish in his life that haunts him.”

Negley Farson (1942)

“Mr. (Calvin) Coolidge’s exploits as a fisherman are well known. One of my favorite angling places was the River Brule. Once a newspaper reporter asked him how many fish approximately were in the Brule, and the President answered that the waters were estimated to contain 45,000 fish.
‘I haven’t caught them all yet,’ he said, ‘but I’ve intimidated them.’”

John McKee (1933) I will be spending winters in Southwestern N.M., and summers in Indiana and Tennessee. I love it here, and as a news reporter am very fascinated with wildlife, conservation, property rights, states' rights and public lands management issues. And, of course I love to fish. I wish there was more water here, and more fishing opportunities. The diversity of the landscape, and wildlife here, more than make up for lack of nearby fishing opportunities.
