During a flirtation with the left in the late 1960s and early 1970s, I came to realize what a destructive influence left wing political philosophy has had on the history of the world and mankind, and how insidious it is in its mission. I came home to conservatism during the reign of Ronald Reagan. I believe that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights are sacrosanct. I believe that the 2nd amendment is the foundation of all of our other freedoms. I am an avid student of history and have read hundreds of volumes on historical subjects. In so doing I have learned that, in spite of some imperfections, The United States of America is the greatest nation on the face of the earth. I am a proud life member of the NRA, a life member of GOA, and a member of Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners. In addition to the Islamic Terrorists, I believe that our most dangerous current domestic foes are the anti-human and anti-private property environmental stalinists. I believe that any person or group who has to hyphenate their last name, or their ethnic identity has some serious problems being a patriotic American. Prior to 9/11, my American Flag was flown on all patriotic holidays. Since 9/11 my flag has flown continually and will continue to do so until my last drop of breath. My wife is proud to display a blue star banner on our front door in honor of our son, CPL RushLake, USMC.
