Jason Shepherd has been called, "a natural leader" by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and someone who can, "help Republicans win" by Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue.

A native of South Florida, Shepherd has lived in Georgia since 1991.

Shepherd has held several offices in both the Republican Party and the Young Republicans. He was elected Fourth Vice-Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party in May, 2001 and reelected in May, 2003 running unopposed. After serving two terms, he stepped down from the position in May of 2005.

He was also elected to serve as Vice-Chairman from Region III of the Young Republican National Federation at the YRNF Convention in 2003. Region III consisted of the states of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi, as well as, the District of Columbia. That term ended in July of 2005. Shepherd's record of accomplishment in that position helped earn him the recognition as the Young Republican National Federation's 2005 Man of the Year.

Shepherd served on both the Platform Committee and as Chairman of the Resolutions Committee at the Young Republican National Convention in 2005.

As a member of the Platform Committee, Shepherd was largely responsible for writing the Young Republican Nation Federation's Platform which will guide the organization until the next convention in 2007.

As Chairman of the Resolutions Committee, Shepherd helped get passed a resolution calling for the passage of the FairTax, a national consumption tax to replace the federal income tax. With the resolutions passage, the YRNF has become the first national Republican body to endorse H.R. 25, the FairTax.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Shepherd was active in the College Republicans serving as state Treasurer and Secretary of the UGA chapter. He also helped establish the Georgia Association of College Republicans (GACR) in 1996. In 1999, he was appointed Southeastern Regional Field Director for the College Republican National Committee being charged with organizing new College Republican chapters in Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.

Shepherd was thanked in 2001 by Florida Lt. Governor Frank Brogan for his efforts and credited his work to helping establish the margin needed for the Bush win in Florida.

Brogan stated, "The work you did to recruit and train young people across the state not only helped make a difference in the election of President George W. Bush, but will provide Florida with a new, rising generation of active Republican leaders."

After graduation, Shepherd went to work for House Speaker Newt Gingrich and has, over the past 8 years, worked for or consulted on over two dozen Republican campaigns throughout Georgia and the Southeast.

Motivated by his belief in Lee Atwater's credo, "To win the state house, you must first win the county courthouse," during his tenure as 4th Vice-Chairman, Shepherd organized the first ever statewide caucus for local elected Republican officials: the Republican Organization of County Commissioners (R.O.C.C.).

In addition to the above mentioned offices, Shepherd served as Chairman of the Buckhead Young Republicans and is the current State Chairman of the Georgia Federation of Young Republicans. Jason has also been honored to be elected Vice-Chairman of IT of the Eleventh Congressional District Republican Committee and is the state Secretary and member of the Endorsements Committee of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Georgia.

In the past, Shepherd has served as:

2004 Strike Force Chairman for the Southeast United States, Youth Voter Registration Coordinator for the Cobb County Bush/Cheney campaign, Treasurer of Angelic Moore for Fulton County Superior Court Clerk, Executive Director of the Georgia Federation of Young Republican Clubs, Communications Director for the Buckhead Young Republican Club.

A graduate of the Republican National Committee's Campaign Management College and the Senator Paul D. Coverdell Leadership Institute, Shepherd is a frequent guest speaker on political communication and has guest lectured at the University of Georgia, Georgia State Univeristy, Atlanta area high schools and civic associations.

He is a member of the Honorary Order of Kentucky Colonels, Cobb County Republican Party, Cobb County Republican Women's Club, the University of Georgia Alumni Association, the Atlanta Press Club, the Kennesaw Historical Society, Sons of the American Revolution and Riverstone Church in Marietta. He and his wife, Manuela, live in Kennesaw, Georgia.
