I've been a lurker on Free Republic for years, now. It's the only place I find kindred spirits when it comes to politics. (Virtually everyone I know - including family - are lefties. {Except my sweetie, who I had to bring along}). I just figured it's time to set up my own account & join in all the fun. :-)

My basic political philosophy is Libertarian - in favor of small government while leaving people to themselves on personal morality/social issues. But I part company with the libertarians in our current war with Islamic extremists. They don't believe in foreign interventions. But intervention is the only way to address this particular issue.
