Sorry, but freedom is messy and you won't always agree with your neighbor or how he lives and what he consumes. Freedom is not being free from things that offend. A lot of tolerance as well as compassion is needed. Force of law does not stop stupid, self damaging, behaviors.

This is something I can't make my friends understand. The presence of freedom automatically implies that some people will do thing you won't like.

the freedom to excel greatly goes hand in hand with the freedom to fail miserably

the safetynet that has been installed also resricts uward movement, IMO
