“...to be closer to a major health-care epicenter.” Sure. That’s as believable as a politician or company exec saying he is quitting to spend more time with his family.
Ellison said it is a “fabulous place to live, one that Oracle employees are excited about.” Sure they are. Of course, there probably ARE a lot who never had a chance of owning a home in California that are happy to move. But many will find TN way too provincial and not aligned with their political views.
I had not heard this: “Oracle has been developing its new $1.2 billion campus in the city for about three years.” I remember when Oracle built their massive complex at Redwood Shores. Doesn’t seem that long ago.
Subconsciously I just don’t like the words
“major health-care epicenter”
No idea why
They can’t buy a home in California because the Ellisons own half of ‘em. I’m only partly joking but I think Ellison owns a couple dozen in Malibu alone. His two children are entertainment moguls of their own and also own multiple properties. And of course Ellison owns nearly the entire Hawaiian island of Lanaii. He bought it from the Dole company for a cool $500 million after they moved their pineapple supply to the Phillipines and didn’t need the land anymore.
