You'd probably have to separate from the St. Louis metro area as well. And put far NW Indiana in with Chicago metro. So the red/conservative/traditional areas would occupy most of the land mass, while the blue/liberal/progressive areas would have heavy population density and much less land area.
My folks grew up in NYC in the 50’s and 60’s. They remember it fondly. But when I came along in the 90’s they fled to Pennsylvania, precisely to protect me from the atmosphere in NY.
Mom said it was like living in a sitcom (specifically, Green Acres). They will never completely adjust, but they have no regrets.
Now and then I think about moving to another state but I really love it here. You just have to stay out of Philadelphia, and hold your nose in the college towns.
Taxes are low, guns are ordinary as flashlights and duct tape. Most people support Trump. We almost never suffer hurricanes, earthquakes, drought, fire ants, scorpions, alligators. Taxes and crime are comparatively low.
But it is a long ride to the beach.
Well he would have been right before 1984 when the colors weren’t standardized. The only reason they finally settled on Blue for Democrats is because they knew “red” was associated with the commies and even back then the media was corrupt.
Thanks!
You have it correct.
[Screw the Fake Media]
Wikipedia used to show the correct colors: BLUE for REAGAN
But somebody has apparently been running around the Internet and changing all the REAGAN BLUE states to red.
The source for the images above, is a private website.
'Rat Urban Utopias.
Agreed. Very confusing.
Exactly, I believe red is the color of communism.
“No civil war, just civil separation.
Choose Freedom - Choose Peace.”
Amen. The sooner, the better.
I’m fine with the “great sorting” as some have called it. I just wish enough Leftugees would move to Virginia and Colorado to turn them back to being red states.
I moved from NJ to central Florida.
I love it here.
I was about to comment on that, too.
And I’m a big fan of red [or dark red] colored stuff [most of my vehicles and a fair amount of my upper body clothes].
Even the USA flag has a fair proportion of red content....
That's been true since before our country was settled by the English.
To understand, you should read the book Albion's Seed or The Cousins Wars, which both describe how different groups from England that had the same "we don't like you" problem over there came here and arrived here and settled together again in their little groups/tribes. Northeast vs South.
There was an English Civil War long before our war of Northern Aggression on our shores, you know.
We didn't much like one another then, and "there's nothing new under the sun."
During the 2004 presidential election coverage, a network intern didn’t know this and put up the same colors that were used in 2000. That’s how it started.
There was a short period of time, somewhere around 1955, the Cincinnati Reds were called the Redlegs. That was because Cincinnatians were aghast that their team had the same name as the commies.
The networks didn’t change the color in 2004.
