Teen pizza delivery driver shot at multiple times after parking in the wrong driveway

An 18-year-old Domino’s delivery driver was shot at multiple times after he parked in the wrong driveway while dropping off food at a home in Tennessee, police said.

Caiden Wheeler told officers he was delivering pizza to a home Monday on North Poole Street in Ashland City, about 25 miles northwest of Nashville.

"The victim stated that he thought he was parked in the right driveway but when he got out to deliver the pizza the next door neighbor ...flagged him down," a criminal complaint states.

Wheeler said he walked through the yard, delivered the pizza and got back into his truck.

As he was pulling out of the driveway, Wheeler said he heard gunshots and saw someone "running at him and shooting at him," according to the complaint.

He said he quickly backed out of the driveway and sped off. Police said there were three bullet holes in his truck: one on the driver’s side by the gas tank, one above the driver’s side window and another in the front driver’s side wheel and tire.

Authorities arrested Ryan Babcock, 32, in connection with the shooting. Wheeler was delivering the pizza to Babcock's neighbor, according to the complaint.

Babcock told officers that he and his wife saw a truck park in their driveway on his doorbell camera.

He said he saw someone running from his vehicle to the truck and thought the person was trying to break in. Babcock said he went outside and "began shooting at the truck" to "disable" it, the criminal complaint states. Babcock allegedly admitted to officers that he shot at the truck multiple times.

The teen told CBS affiliate WTVF of Nashville that he thinks Babcock should have been charged with attempted murder.

"I was literally about to get killed right there," he said.

SFB should have never started firing off rounds in that fashion in the first place. Driver hadn’t approached their house, albeit being parked in the wrong driveway.

Driver didn’t threaten the homeowner in any fashion that I can see. Homeowner was pretty stupid doing what he did, IMO.

Automobiles and firearms are wonderful in the right hands, but many people should never be allowed to operate them.

My brother had a wheel fall off his car back in the '80s about 9:00 PM. There was a light on in a house so he knocked in order to ask to use the phone but no answer so he went back to the car.

The police showed up and said the people in the house had called him, they called a tow for him.

The office also mentioned the 82-year-old man kept his .357 revolver trained on the door the whole time my brother was on the porch knocking (once.)

Yep, overreaction. Good to be vigilant, but the kid hadn’t done anything threatening.

When I was a kid, we lived in a house that was on a corner for a couple of years. It wasn’t uncommon for people to pull into our driveway to turn around. We thought nothing of it. We’d watch to see if it was someone coming to visit, but if they just pulled in and backed out going the other way, we went on about our business.

Not so sure. In a normal country, where cops arrest bad guys and laws are enforced, then yes. But we no longer live in a normal country. Steal the store shelves bare, no problem. Sucker punch a white grandmother, no problem. Shoot up / sell drugs in a playground, no problem. Rampage and riot, no problem [unless you’re conservative, then its a 20 year sentence for walking around]. Groom toddlers with cross-dressers, they get paid for that.

The new thing here in LA is home invasions - while someone is home so that the safe can be opened. I carefully watch every car stopping in front of my suburban home, making a U-Turn, or occupied while parked. I do so because I’d be stupid not to.

It was a pizza delivery guy, this time. Pizza guy did nothing wrong and the homeowner was obviously wrong in the conlclusion he made, but not necessarily wrong to have made that mistake. Because next time, chances are that “pizza delivery guy” really isn’t delivering pizzas.

This is the culture the democrat/leftits have given us. Now go out and vote biden again.

Dominos - if it is more than 30 minutes, your pizza is free.

Not every neighborhood is being cased by criminals.

The guy is driving away after not even knocking on the door of the shooter’s house. If the shooter saw something, I could maybe understand some concern here, but Tennessee isn’t Texas, and even in Texas that shooter would likely be in some hot water with the authorities.

I get what you’re saying, but never aim a weapon unless you know exactly what you’re preparing to shoot at, and you better have a damned good reason for doing it.

I’m going to reveal my age with this post but IMO, porch/doorway cameras, cell phones, social media are all catalysts for the decline we see in our news/society every day. Have a cell phone - QUICK - see or cause a fight, get a picture and post it. Let’s stage a protest. Think of the pictures we can get.

Idiotic reactions because someone pulls into the wrong driveway or even knocks on the wrong door. Do these people ever let go of their devices long enough to even sleep? Go for a walk - take your phone. Go shopping - take your phone. What can be so important in one’s life that they can’t bear to be separated from a phone or any electronic device?

Parents have trouble getting their kids to put down the phones but the parents do the same thing. I’ve had people come into my house and immediately pull out their phone. What did they come to my house for? Silly me - I thought it was to visit!

“This food delivery is crap. Go get your own.”

What if you don’t have a car?

What if you had too much to drink?

What if you are the host and don’t want to leave the house unattended?

I have neighbors who have food delivered at midnight. They do keep odd hours and seldom get out of their cars without carrying bags of food...Their “hips” show it too! Did I say that?

They do park in their own driveway..
