Ohh... Trump critics will like this video (at link).

It'll be interesting to see how he addresses the Libertarian Party National conference later this month.

The main reason is that the Deep State has had about 70 years to establish itself and Trump only had one term, with Congress firmly against him.

It’s not “anti-Trump” to accurately discuss his record in office

It’s not like he’s taking cheap personal shots. He’s talking to an economist and they break down the numbers and accurately discuss the record

Just cuz’ you don’t like it doesn’t make it “anti-Trump”

How will he fare in a second term?

Hopefully a bit better!

The man fought off enemies from all sides, including his own party.

The second term would have been different.

Yes, I think he’ll clean house.

In the American two-party “system”, somebody who is more against your opponent than against you is your ally.

He’s going to need to in my opinion.

I also think the addressing the LP conference is a BIG DEAL that no one is really talking about.

Many people will be watching that speech closely for hints as to how he might govern,

Put the date in your diary!

No One Can Make Government Work - Reason.com article by John Stossels, 05/01/2024

You'd think Ed Stringham would know. He's worked in government for 51 years.

But the truth is, no one can make government work.

Biden hasn't.

Look at the chaos at the border, our military's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, the rising cost of living, our unsustainable record-high debt.

In my new video, economist Ed Stringham argues that no government can ever work well, because "even the best person can't implement change….The massive bureaucracy gets bigger and slower."

I learned that as a consumer reporter watching bureaucrats regulate business. Their rules usually made life worse for consumers.

No GOP nominee has ever addressed the Libertarian conference so I think it’s a big deal that no one is talking about that Trump is doing..

It’ll be one of the most interesting speeches he’s made in years and will tell you a lot about how he will approach his 2nd term.

It’ll be a blockbuster I assure you

To drain the swamp, you'd have to shut down 90% of all federal agencies and departments, get rid of all NGOs, etc. A lot of oxen need to be gored.

It’s called winning. In the midterm elections of 2018, the Rs lost the House of Representatives and the Ds took over. Remember Nancy Pelosi? Fortunately, we still had the Senate. So, working with Mitch McConnell, Trump was able to get appointments through. What will happen this time? Will we add to our tiny sliver of a majority in the House, and win the Senate as well as the White House? And, will we keep our majorities through the midterm elections of 2026?

Just look at Federal income tax forms.

Trump attempted to simplify them, but by the time IRS got through with the simplification, it wasn’t.

Biden’s IRS has taken revenge by making those schedules that go along with the 1040 (Schedules 1-5) crazy worse...

It’s peace and prosperity vs war and impoverishment.

It is that simple, why the messaging can’t be that simple is beyond me.

Libertarian, Edstringham has a very niave, almost childlike view of the swamp and why it wasn’t drained. And fellow libertarian John Stossel follows his libertarian brother way off the mark.

It is about the human conundrum. The best government is no government, but anarchy is worse. The constitutional framers knew that and tried to create a government that would be self governing. But we are lazy, and the envisioned constitutional balance cannot outlast the effects of entropy without the dreaded periodic refresh of the tree of liberty of which we are overdue by probably a century.
