Rep. Beth Van Duyne acknowledged Friday that she is “happily engaged in a relationship” with fellow Republican legislator Rich McCormick after the Georgia congressman filed for divorce earlier this month from his wife of 12 years.
“I’m single. We’re both parents of adult children and empty nesters,” Van Duyne (R-Texas) told DailyMail.com in remarks her office later confirmed to The Post. “His marriage has been over for quite some time, as I understand it. He’s filed for divorce.”
The romance between Van Duyne, 53, and McCormick, 55, was first reported by the Daily Mail Thursday evening, but a rep for the Georgia lawmaker told The Post the partnership was “old news” to the Capitol Hill “rumor mill.”

What exactly is your problem with this ‘story’?
yeah, article left some gaps. They both have grown adult children and are empty nesters. Yet, he has seven children in a 12-year marriage. That doesn’t compute to “empty nester” unless the kids are all from prior marriages.
By the look on their faces and the action of their deeds, they’re made for each other.
I agree. I saw this story last week and remembered that I was going to vote for him but they changed the districts here...we had to settle for McBath. Give me a man - any conservative man - over what we have to put up with as a US rep now. It’s like having Cynthia McKinney as a rep. Two consenting adults are open about a relationship? It doesn’t matter IMO. How many in congress are conducting affairs out of the public eye? None? LOL
That relationship is so wrong on so many levels. Problem is, I can’t think of any of those levels, now or ever before. So, I’m left wondering why it’s a story that interests anybody, other than the people involved.
According to Wikipedia, all seven kids are from previous marriages.

The only real question is did this romantic relationship begin before the guy was considering divorce.
Getting romantically involved with an already married person is always wrong, and should always raise alarms -like “down the road, will they betray me as well”.

she may be single but he wasn’t. how selfish and self focused of her to say such a thing. shows she its NOT looking out for Anyone but herself. Him too.
So, they are human beings. Flawed and with, in my opinion, poor judgement.
I wonder how they do representing their constituents? I guess that is what really matters.
