This video news report is mostly what's been aired on past news reports: that Joel Hinrichs was turned away from the stadium, etc., but the the KEY quote from this story occurs about :30 seconds into the story, and that is when the reporter says "...a homemade REMOTE CONTROLLED bomb was strapped to his back
The story goes on to detail his attempted purchase of ammonium nitrate fertilizer, etc.
ping your friends please
who has the remote? was it cellphone based?
inquiring minds want to know.
Very strange, indeed!
Does the story mention his Islamist link?
Sounds like your garden variety suicide to me.
Remote controlled suicide.... yep, thats it!!
for the person who's too lazy to get up out of the recliner to do the deed
so either the device had some kind of "dead man's switch" which he manually activated by mistake while on the bench. or his muslim handlers offed him by remote control - perhaps fearing it was too risky to leave him alive after he failed to get into the stadium.
just some hypotheticals to ponder.
This resembles that wierd case in PA I think, pizza delivery guy who wound up the same way?
"remote controlled"! That puts a whole new light on this story. The gullible Hinrichs became the point man, his comrades blew him up after he was unsuccessful in getting into the stadium, and they are probably on their next mission at some other stadium in the midwest.
So then it would a MURDER investigation....
Hmm. Anyone remember the story about the pizza guy in upstate New York (was it?) who claimed he was kidnapped and booby trapped with a bomb? And then it went off?
Sounds like it was supposed to go off when he was inside, but they turned him away.
Any reason for them to think it was remote-controlled?
Totally just took the words out of my mouth.
that pizza case is still under investigation - but it is not terror related.
Yep, that's most likely what happened.
Yes, Geraldo did a big follow-up on that story and who was behind the bomb - it was not the delivery guy. He was being used.
Sorry - didn't watch the peice, just saw the promos.
Why would his comrades blow him up and create a trail of evidence that could lead back to them when he could have just walked away and tried another day?
