Thank you so much for that link. It's good to see it covered at least a little by MSNBC.

Hinrichs' father appears to be a very intelligent, well-spoken man. I do feel for him in all of this... He made an interesting remark about taking note a year ago of the changes in his son.

The young lady from the Muslim Student's association was also pretty well spoken. She kept saying she was confused about everything - she repeated this about 20 times! She definitely knows how to reinforce an idea in the minds of the viewers - repetition. Does she know this politician's tool of the trade? Who knows...

She is right that the media isn't perhaps doing as good a job as it should reporting this but she really missed the mark, IMHO as far as saying they are reporting completely on speculations. I personally don't think off the record testimony from LEOs is "speculation". I also don't think that eyewitness accounts and interviews are speculation either.

She basically blamed the media for painting things a certain way, but she fails to acknowledge why everyone would be so "nervous at first" as Rita Cosby puts it. The young woman says we're all nervous and there are a lot of unanswered questions. Well, that goes without saying.

OU has put out that Hinrichs was not seen approaching any of the gates; it's a bogus account;"there's nothing to see here--move along" statement, correct?

And yet Boren has also told us about the new security cameras they are installing, right?

Apparently they are discrediting student Adam Smith's statements... If they have truly investigated and showed this young man pictures of the gate guards and he couldn't identify any of them, then they should some out and say so directly.

I've been monitoring this situation very closely. It was an interesting interview. Obviously, the father is not going to admit if his son joined/had connections with an Islamic Jihad movement or something, if this is what happened.

We have to understand that plenty of white Americans, with nothing to do with Islamic terrorists, hate this country, hate our Middle East policies, and will commit high explosive, or other, terrorists acts. We just don't hear about the massive authorities busts, or events, of/by these individuals in the National media. It's so under-reported it is damn scary!

That stated, there is something very serious going on in this OU bombing situation individually, and when you evaluate current events on a macro basis. I'm totally shocked over David Boren's comments and the National media suppression of this situation. It disgusting and extremely dangerous - all over OU not wanting to hurt football attendance or their alumni donations. It doesn’t seem like people ever learn.

That stuff is probably not THAT important to Boren. Getting one's orders from the Saudi Government would rank much higher.

Anything coming out of Boren's mouth at this time is suspect. Parse his words. I know there are no cameras in the parking garages because of PC and threats of law suits so why should I beieve they were in the stadium.

I believe his statement they are installing video surveillance that came out earlier this week.

I agree and I also understand very well the threat from some purely American extremists of many different political and/or social ideologies.

I also completely agree with your statements regarding the OU case. Regarding the macro basis - this is especially distressing after reading the following article printed on MSNBC today;

Memo: NYC attack was scheduled for Sunday Details emerge about alleged plot as officials jostle over threat's credibility

A Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by The Associated Press said the attack was reportedly scheduled to take place on or around Sunday, with terrorists using timed or remote-controlled explosives hidden in briefcases, suitcases or in or under strollers.

The memo said that the department had received information indicating the attack might be carried out by “a team of terrorist operatives, some of whom may travel or who may be in the New York City area.”

Granted, this may have nothing to do with the OU case, but then again it could have a lot to do with it. So many things coming out from so many places. So many officials speaking on condition of "anonymity".

I think most Americans have been lulled into a state of disbelief that we are at no risk at all, and they wouldn't have the slightest clue what to do if they indeed found themselves in the middle of something. Also I have personally witnessed the indifference of people to crimes happening right under their noses - preferring not to get involved. You are very correct in saying this is all very dangerous - for more reasons than I have stated.

I hesitate to say this but part of me wonders if the dangers go much farther than incompetency, and political correctness. It makes me wonder at times if we have not been "infiltrated" already and there are not enemies and traitors within the ranks. Frankly, to think otherwise especially during a war would be to put one's head in the sand. After all, we are not the only country in the world that trains spies...

I recalled that statement when Ms. Cosby spoke of Fazal Cheema and stated he was a Muslim. The young women did not correct her...

The other thing that's interesting is that the person who said that "atheist" statement was only named and didn't appear anywhere else in the article. There was nothing to indicate how he could know such a personal thing, or why we should take his word over other reports to the contrary.

Funny how they expect us to believe the word of someone they could've picked up off the street, but reporters revealing statements of "officals speaking under condition of anonymity" means reporting on "speculations". Even more ludicrous is when it's the AP, MSNBC and others saying and agreeing with these things and in the excerpt I posted in a link above we can see that this is a common practice for them...
