This is a perfect example of irresponsible reporting if I've ever seen one. I'm still tracking down info for the AP in GA.

A few years ago we had a disgruntled customer set off a pipe bomb in the plumbing department at the home improvement store where I work. Fortunately, the guy was an idiot and didn't screw the end caps on tightly, so one blew off and the bomb just fizzled. The EOD guys from Fort Knox came over and had to search the entire store to make sure there weren't any other bombs and one of them told me that if it had gone off it would have been like having a hand grenade explode and probably would have killed and/or wounded several people who were shopping in the next aisle over.

The guy set off several other bombs around town over the next several months, causing several large fires, before finally being caught. He ended up getting forty years in prison.
