The OU Daily reports that the FBI says it "may never know if Hinrichs tried try to enter the stadium or purchase a ticket for the game, even though surveillance tape was taken from the stadium." Local TV reports of Hinrichs' attempt to buy ammonium nitrate fertilizer before the bombing incident still stand, and News 9 stands by its reporting on Hinrichs' alleged visits to a nearby mosque.

It is just as foolish to close your eyes to even the possibility of an Islamic connection. It has neither been proved nor disproved. Knowing the OU President's hush-up mop-up, the FBI and the media, we may never know for sure.

I wondered that too. In fact, I thought the FBI was insisting the tapes showed he didn't try to get into the game (despite conflicting reports from gate security that he tried 3 times). And now they're LOST?

I'm still wondering how anybody can know that Hinrichs tried to buy ammonium nitrate, but still throw away the idea that he was planning something besides a suicide.

Islamic terrorism? Maybe yes, or maybe no, but definitely more than a suicide.
