The bad news is, she eventually woke up.

I wonder if she will feel compelled to refund some of her paycheck back to the Treasury.

Some people can sleep anywhere, but me, I can't really sleep soundly till my head hits my desk on Monday morning.
I've heard that Ginsburg has bladder cancer. She may just be holding on, hoping that Hillary will appoint her successor in 2009. It may be really difficult for her to hang in there, so, even though I don't share her views and convictions, I have to admire her guts and determination.

Any judge on the SCOTUS who can't do without an afternoon nap should consider retiring. No wonder the press said it was "a rare afternoon session that lasted two-hours" with these old geezers involved. But then she already knew she'd be voting against the Texas Republicans, so why not nap? The rule ought to be that a judge who does not hear the testimony should not get to vote on the matter they were absent from or snoozed through.

I think her cancer is back and they're not yet ready to tell people. The fact that her colleagues allowed her to continue to sleep means that it wasn't merely a doze off.

In all seriousness, I think she should have to recuse herself from this case. She obviously missed testimony. Alito was not involved in the abortion protester decision because he was not on the court when testimony was given. If you do not have the physical stamina for the job it is time to go.
If the redistricting case goes against the current map I see a great case for an appeal - if one can appeal a Supreme Court decision?

Where's the pic?
FOX should have it on their homepage.

There's really no reason for her to stay awake. Since she rarely writes any opinions, she only has to make a call to the ACLU near the end of each case so she will know which way to vote.

Apparently, she does a lot of snoring and sleeping on the job as her health continues to be an increasing problem.

According to the Associated Press, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg snoozed during testimony today over political redistricting in Texas. With rare exceptions (and this is not one of them), the SCOTUS does not hear "testimony," but rather, it hears oral argument. The author's inability to understand the difference leads me to wonder whether he was the one sleeping on the job.

I went to the USSC on a 7th or 8th grade field trip. The ushers threatened us about talking, etc., and told us
that if it appeared the justices were sleeping, they really were not....
Don't remember the exact case, only that it was something about business. Pretty empty court, though.

Imagine what the Lame Stream Media would be saying if it were one of the conservative judges.
We would be getting toxic levels of their editorial opinions with the "news" they broadcast.
