SUPPOSEDLY FORMER reps...I only recognize about 3 names (4 with Kasich) so how efficient or successful were any of them? Apparently NOT - or they would still be in the House.

“Some others on the list had already backed the former vice president, including former Republican Sens. Gordon Humphrey of New Hampshire (who is now an independent) and John Warner of Virginia. They’re joined by a number of former Republican House members:

Former Reps. Steve Bartlett of Texas, Bill Clinger of Pennsylvania, Tom Coleman of Missouri, Charlie Dent of Pennsylvania, Charles Djou of Hawaii, Mickey Edwards of Oklahoma, Wayne Gilchrest of Maryland, Jim Greenwood of Pennsylvania, Bob Inglis of South Carolina, Jim Kolbe of Arizona, Steve Kuykendall of California, Ray LaHood of Illinois (who served as Transportation secretary in the Obama administration), Jim Leach of Iowa, Connie Morella of Maryland, Mike Parker of Mississippi, Jack Quinn of New York, Claudine Schneider of Rhode Island, Chris Shays of Connecticut, Peter Smith of Vermont, Alan Steelman of Texas, Bill Whitehurst of Virginia, Dick Zimmer of New Jersey, and Jim Walsh of New York.

Former Senator Jeff Flake and former Congressman Jim Kolbe are among many Republican members of Congress who have announced their support for Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris.

evil comes in two forms:

1) instigators and perpetrators of evil
2) useful idiots who support and are sympathizers of #1

A good question would be why did Flake go from being a decent/good congressman to being a dud as a Senator? Never did understand it.

He did pretty much save the life of Scalise by dragging him off the ball field to the only shelter available which wasn’t much.

Yep. How many times here on FR have we said, "Why aren't the Republicans doing x or y?" It may be that they never had any intention of doing x or y, or anything meaningful to stop the leftward plunge.

Look back. The country moved more to the left after the Republicans took over in 1994.

I’m mildly surprised that the precious darling of far too many people still on FR, Jeff Sessions, wasn’t among them.

You mean the first elected official in the entire United States to endorse Trump?

Hint: If they actually stop the leftward plunge, or do X or Y, what reason would their supporters have to deluge them in money to try to stop the leftward plunge or do X or Y?

You mean the first elected official in the entire United States to publicly backstab Trump after endorsing him?

They won't be able to raise much money if no one believes them anymore. Trump is saving their butts and they react in the opposite way to what you would expect. If anything, Trump has exposed them for the frauds that they are.

Yes, but they’ve gotten away with it for so long and made so much money that they just can’t stop themselves. Pretty much the same way that GM kept shipping garbage cars that barely lasted out their short warranty periods in the 70s-90s while the Asian marques were rapidly eating their lunch - been ripping off the American citizen for so long they had gotten into a habit that they just couldn’t turn off.

I’m not sure if what you say is true. And if Sessions took a risk by being the first to endorse him, and got the best job in his cabinet, why would he do that?
