A Florida judge has temporarily blocked a ban on abortions after 15 weeks that was set to begin Friday.

Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union and abortion providers filed suit to stymie the law, arguing that it violated the state’s constitution.

Leon County Judge John C. Cooper handed down his ruling from the bench after two days of arguments and said he would issue a written injunction.

State officials are expected to fight the decision.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the 15-week abortion ban this past April, prior to the Supreme Court’s momentous reversal of Roe v. Wade last Friday.

Every Democrat-appointed district judge thinks he’s pharaoh, able to mock the living God even at the cost of the death of the first born of Egypt.

In hindsight, they should have put clauses in each of these trigger bills, that instructed the courts that in any challenges to the law, the courts should err on the side to protect the unborn life, and that judges that failed to protect the unborn shall be held liable for murder charges or the same penalties prescribed in the anti-abortion law as well as automatic initiation of impeachment hearings.

So what is the point of the Supreme Court ruling if a State judge overrides it?

Nothing is ever settled until it is settled the way the Left wants it settled.

Its being fought on the basis that the ban is against the Fla. state constitution, not federal. The USSC decision has nothing to do with it

Welcome, Ron, to Trump’s world of dealing with activist Democrat judges who are in open war with the law. Having fun, yet?

I love the NY Post, but they’re not exempt from my observation that is malpractice the way media covers legal issues. I infer from the scant text that there’s. Fl Supreme Court ruling that supposedly would bar this statute. We’ll recall that the SC of FL was formerly stacked with lib idiots. Returning the issue to the states means you have to deal w/ what we statutes and court prevents are in place in the states

SCOTUS just handed the issue back to the states. Florida’s law is being challenged based on the STATE constitution.

The Florida Constitution does not protect unborn child murder.

Remove the “judge” pronto.

Time to start taking the federal government out of the equation when it comes to state law. Start nullifying federal laws, prioritize state law and ignore the judge shopping.

The SCOTUS just ruled that there is no constitutional right to an abortion. This leaves it up to states to figure out. So now it is totally in the state courts hands.

Exactly what the USSC intended. Let the states work it out. It is now up to the governor and legislature to clamp down on the rogue courts if it is the will of the people. It will take several years to restore government processes, checks, and balances ripped apart by the federal courts as accountability is returned to the states and we transition back to living under the Constitution.
