Three in 10 Americans believe the COVID-19 pandemic is worsening, while more than one in four worry about being infected, according to a new Gallup poll.
The new poll, published Thursday, found that 30 percent of respondents said the ongoing pandemic is worsening, while 41 percent think its getting better and 30 percent said it has stayed the same.
That marks a 25 percent increase from a similar poll published in May, where 5 percent of respondents said they believe the pandemic is getting worse.
Along political party lines, 44 percent of Democrat respondents believe the ongoing pandemic is getting worse, compared with 22 percent of independents and 16 percent of Republicans.

1. Democrats should be concerned. They are the most vaxxed up and will suffer most from antibody dependent enhancement. I would encourage dims to get vaxxed at every opportunity.
2. Focusing on Covid gives dims something to focus on other than how corrupt Biden is and how independents are siding with Republicans on this point.
3. Being overly worried about contracting a virus is stressful. Stress reduces immunity. It’s a vicious cycle.
4. The fact that there are so many little tyrants all around me who want to force masking, social distancing and injecting people with a harmful substance is a source of mild stress to me. All the more reason to encourage dims to get more jabs so as to reduce the populace of dims causing me stress and then try to explain to them after the fact what they really allowed themselves to be injected with so they can worry about that.

My friend has just gotten her third or fourth booster (truly, I’ve lost count), because she is scared of getting sick and passing it on to her elderly parents. Mind you, both her parents and she and her husband have all gotten CoVid earlier this year, and it was fairly mild. Sick for about a week. I love her, but her anxiety over CoVid is really irritating.
There is thread up about Jimmy Kimmel having to cancel one of his shows because he tested positive.
He is surely vaxxed as much as one possibly can be.
Does your friend not realize that according to Jimmy Kimmel logic she should test herself at least weekly to make sure she isn’t infected without her knowledge so she doesn’t pass anything to her parents?
Does she not know the vaxx isn’t going to stop anyone from getting and giving Covid to anyone, even to those vaxxed to the hilt? It’s only going to supposedly reduce the chances of getting a bad case of Covid. And if her parents are vaxxed they shouldn’t get a bad case, right?
I admire you for being able to still be friends with such a person, I really do.
I would have told them long ago that I find them to be a lost cause and I’m focusing on making new friendships.
She’s a very dear old childhood friend. We’ve been friends since we were ten years old. We are about to have a girlhood reunion next week with two others from our grade school days, and that’s probably why she’s scared. We will be traveling via air, and she’s not one to fly. She mostly doesn’t, so I know she is already anxious about the trip. She’s moving beyond her comfort zone by flying, so I applaud her for taking that step.
The four of us are a unique crew. We still keep in touch, and see each other annually even though we live across the country from each other. Only during 2020 did we not get together. We still see each other as 14 year olds, but with more wisdom (and beauty) than we had as teens.
