Pro-migration Republican Senators are signaling a quick collapse for the Democratic-backed migration plan now being negotiated by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), according to Politico.

Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), blamed Russia for the rising GOP opposition, telling Politico “I suspect that a lot of the internet rumors are very well coming from overseas, where they would love to see this shut down because some people would rather not see funding for Ukraine.”

I quipped on a thread about how resistance to the invasion would eventually get framed as resulting from the action by "agents of Putin". And here we get that very intimation from a sitting United States senator.

Just yesterday I read a quote from Lankford denying some of the rumored content of the bill. If it’s so great, why is the exact content still secret? It’s true that support is collapsing, so why not try to salvage it by releasing the text so everyone can see the rumors are false?

I just read that 750 million people would love to “migrate”. Where do we think they want to waltz into? 11 million under FJB already. That’s roughly a couple army divisions and the combination of about 11 smaller states. The rule is that once any population hits the 25% number, the society drastically changes (for the worst).

It’s worth remembering this line “we need to stop illegal immigration and increase legal immigration” is flawed in principle. The USA already legally lets in 1 million immigrants per year , an excessive number IMO already. The most in the world I believe.

And..

Kentucky has a dubious distinction of being a very red state the has a history of opening our borders up to the flood. The 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli bill (amnesty) was an eventual abject failure. Rather than making a one time amnesty then controlling the border it was the start to what we have today.

Mazzoli was Romano Mazzoli a Democratic Italian heritage senator from Loserville Ky…er I mean Louisville Ky.

BTW he died in 2022, very quietly in the news I might add, I live a 10 min drive from Ky and didn’t even hear about it. However he and (Republican) Simpson’s legacy will live on forever in being one of the instruments of change in transforming what was the worlds most moral, high living standard and powerful countries in the world to the mess we are becoming.

Well, you know the answer to that. Notwithstanding the fact that he's a Baptist minister, Lankford is not politically trustworthy. This entire thing is about him ignoring the interests of the State that sent him to the Senate and sucking up to seats of power. When one calls his office, whichever young lady who answers the phone will say, "But you haven't seen what's in the bill!" - which of course is the defense they want to run, because they're hiding the details of the bill for the reasons you just described.

He's laying the ground for a sellout, and screw his constituent State. One suspects that Big AG interests have been making the cheap labor pitch to him. He thinks the worst that could happen as a result of this is life goes on just the same as always and he gets primaried in 2028, at which time he'll be fabulously rewarded for doing this.
