Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny appeared healthy and in good spirits during a court appearance just one day before his sudden death in prison, according to a video.
In footage by Russian news outlet SOTA and shared by Reuters, Navalny is seen cracking jokes with a judge in what is believed to be his last court hearing before his death.

He began his career as an anti-corruption blogger before carving his own path as an independent politician who was outspoken against Putin and organized protests against the Kremlin.
In August 2020, Navalny collapsed on a flight from Siberia. Medical experts later discovered he had been poisoned with the Soviet-era nerve agent Novichok.

For the great majority of Russians, telling them Alexey Navalny has died would elicit the response: “who?”
It would be like telling Americans, “the famous opposition Presidential candidate and Trump opponent, Joe Sestak, has just died in prison.”
Maybe he choked to death falling off his bed and got tangled up in his bed sheet, like Jeffrey Epstein, at a time when both security guards were taking a leak and the security camera was on the blink.

Navalny was being held in a penal colony 40 miles north of the Arctic Circle, where he had been sentenced to 19 years under a "special regime."
During imprisonment he was sent to punitive isolation 27 times. According to his relatives, he spent 308 days in punitive isolation (SHIZO).
