Overthrow Putin. I don’t see a problem with that.
Who tacitly supports Russia from soup to nuts. I don’t. I think we need to take care of our strategic arrangements. But the present state of affairs is an utter shambles. We don’t know what our interests are, who are our friends and who are our enemies. We seem to have a hard time trying not to finance and support Hamas and have a hard times supporting Israel. And if your that confused about that issue I can only surmise we are confused about every other issue in foreign policy and national security as well.
Better succeed.
In law it is a stipulated fact. In public opionion it is nothing because we all know Popadopolous was set up so he could be pressured to dish on Trump.

Northern and Western Europe besides being overrun by muslims, some in recessions cannot defend themselves from a large swarm of gnats. They created the Euro to take down the dollar and it barely made a dent. They are wholly beholden for not only defense but almost all medical r & d.
In Asia, Japan becomes less relevant daily, China leads the world in renewables and nothing else.
US shambles really means $200,000,000,000 debt/unfunded liabilities with no alternative to the USD even existing.
We have a hammerlock on the global financial system like never previously. Trump got Turkey out of Syria in 9 days in 2019 after blocking Turkish banks access-no muslim nation has ever heeled so rapidly.
In essence, US supremacy may never have been greater yet the US is in shambles.
I get the confusion though-the Euros living in tuna cans, owning 1/2 car paying $20 for a two slices and a coke somehow have it better.

In terms of history and process it is an error to call a “colour revolution” a “coup”.
What was dangerous for Navalny was the existing government he was against was and is a dictatorship. I don’t know when it has ever been morally wrong to seek foreign assistance against a dictator. Yes, even dictators get to call their government the “legitimate” government of their country and in some legal sense that is true, and in a strict legal sense even plotting against a dictator is “treason”.
Our nations founders plotted against their British government and sought the assistance of foreign nations (France) to overthrow that government. Our founders had legitimate gripes against the British and no doubt Navalny’s gripes against the Putin cabal were equally valid.
Who knows, in the long run of Russian history Navalny may later be considered a hero.

This may be sooner than later.
Putin may have made a serious mistake here. Navalny alive was a political prisoner and a living example to other people not to challenge the Putin regime.
Now that Navalny is dead he has become a martyr.
It also matters that Russians are affected by a kind of fatalism that is unknown in the West. If they think they’re going to die anyway the Russian people will not avoid their fate. Not at all. They will charge into it headlong.
Now there’s people in Russia who do not believe in Putin’s grand delusion of the ‘Russkiy Mir’ who will rise up. And they will fight.
The question is will it be hundreds of them, thousands of them, or millions of them?

I think it will be later and not sooner.
Putin is playing the “nationalism” of war to his advantage and no matter how the war ends, even with a major set back for Putin, he will, even then, on the defensive, play that card successgully, I believe. I think Russia and the world will have to wait for a post Putin era, and even then, and until then, we can’t know if that will be led by an existing Putin crony-oligarch. Those oligarchs with the state intelligence apparatus, joined at the hip with them, will still be very much running the show, even after Putin.

So let’s try to figure this out. Possibly during his hearing the day before he was sent secret signals that it was time for him to commit suicide to help Ukraine get its latest US military package. This suicide would be interpreted as murder done by his enemy Putin. Thus our House members who are now on vacation until the end of the month would quickly decide our smartest move would be to quickly return to DC and make a bipartisan vote to pass the bill.
Get this done before the second anniversary of Putin’s invasion on Feb. 24th, and it would really spoil Putin’s planned celebration of his NOT WAR. Those House members like AOC, and possibly some Pubs getting secret contributions would be bypassed and frustrated.
Then again perhaps he was poisoned by some other prisoner given a fat payment or pardon for getting rid of Navalny so he would not do or say something to ruin Putin’s big Feb. 24 celebration. The possibilities are endless in the tortured prison that is now called Russia, but will soon again be called the Soviet Nation. Remember, Putin is now requiring school children to chant, “Glory to the Soviet Nation,” and he also had that lone antique tank in last year’s parade sporting the red flag of Stalin’s Soviet Union, not the flag of the country Russia.
