Please spare me the outrage over Navalny
American Thinker ^ | February 17, 2024 | By Jim Daws

There was a time when I could concern myself with the well-being and virtue of other nations. It was in those days, not so very long ago, that ours was a nation of laws, with leaders who had its best interests at heart and who, more or less, abided by our Constitution and at least tried to do right by America.

But that time has passed.

Today we have a political class, legal system and press that prioritizes political power and profit above such mundane matters as fidelity to the Constitution, public safety, and prosperity of their fellow citizens. In the power centers of our nation's capital and major cities, our political class now has a majority coalition of leftist ideologies, cultural Marxists and cynical establishment pols feeding on the carcass of our once-great nation.

Our legal system in the capital and major cities has been hijacked to the service of that political class and notions of equal protection and fidelity to the people’s law be damned.

###

I’m told that Navalny and his political movement are the victims of persecution and oppression by Russia’s president, security services and legal system, while I see our own president, legal system and security services violate our laws to jail and destroy their political opponents, great and small, by the thousands -- all the while encouraging the criminality of their fellow travelers.

So forgive me if I seem insufficiently concerned over the death of Alexei Navalny, may he rest in peace.

Anyone more concerned about a CIA-back stooge like Navalny than weaponization of the DOJ and FBI under the Biden regime is the mortal enemy of anyone that loves this country and believes in the freedoms our Founders proclaimed in the Constitution.

Yeah this all rings pretty hollow when we have Americans in solitary confinement in DC jails for 3 years for Trespassing.

I was so disconnected from the travails of that Navalny guy that I thought he had died years ago.

“Yeah this all rings pretty hollow when we have Americans in solitary confinement in DC jails for 3 years for Trespassing.”

It is AMAZING - we have a little army here who’s job is to keep telling us how ‘horrible’ Putin is, while they virtually never seem to have a bad word for Biden or the Neocons.

Makes one wonder why they’re even here...

Anyone killed in Russia should have known better or they had it coming. Either way, I could care less.

“Another article covering for Putin”

Tell me, who has done more damage to the United States, Putin or Biden?

I would say that if any foreign leader had done one of about five or ten things to the United States that Biden has done, it would be declared an act of war.

fortunately for Ukraine, Putin is in charge, most of his successors would have already sterilized what used to be Ukraine.

Spare me the outrage. We were locked down while big pharma received blank checks. The CARES act was signed by a republican prez in lieu of the constitution.
Republicans keep funding more wars.
The weaponized big pharma must be addressed along with everyone in power who authorized it. I still have a copy of the EUA Cfr from spring 2020.
Everyone should be accountable.
Funding big pharmas war against our own people.
We lost it.

“Anyone more concerned about a CIA-back stooge like Navalny...”

Didn’t think of that angle of the story. Maybe Putin smelled a CIA rat and dealt with him.

I wouldn’t put that outside the realm of possibilities.

Do I care? Not really.

Am I surprised? Not at all.

Russian politics have always been brutal. One cannot apply a western morality to anything Russian.

It amuses me when people do.

The author may be overly broad in his hypothesis insofar as Jailing political opponents and using government to harass those who do not support them or their ideas or are not part of their constituency is exclusively a Democrat thing in this country

If Ronald Reagan was alive today, he'll root for Navalny.
