If you care about this stuff — that is, the most important matter to all of mankind — the lifeblood of civilization . . . then have a look at NPR-A history.
About 20 or so years ago, the USGS re-evaluated the reserves in NPRA. The re-evaluation was -90%. That’s minus 90%.
The amount previously estimated was slashed down to 10%. The reason was some exploratory drilling made clear the areas of rock thought to have oil actually had only natural gas.
And so, sportsfans, when you see this announcement that 50% of NPRA has been ruled off limits for drilling, you see something that doesn’t matter.
There is nothing there. No reason to bother.
