I think there is justification for many states to adjust their borders. Can it be done? Aside from miniscule border adjustments, has there ever been large-scale adjustments?

Klamath Falls is pretty liberal. Im afraid their votes would not benefit Idaho.

As a landowner in Eastern Oregon, already convinced that Greater Idaho should happen, you’ve just convinced me more :)

This means current revenue dollars would need to be stretched even more thinly to support roads, provide health and human services, license certain professions, education for both K-12 and higher education, land management, regulating alcohol and other products, and many other aspects of government.

Most of these things are not legitimate aspects of government anyway, and should be eliminated.

I would LOVE to see this happen.

The trend would be for lower Illinois to split down the middle with the West half asking to join Missouri and the East half asking to join Indiana.

Then Southeastern California can petition to join Arizona.

It would make for some interesting realignment of electoral votes.

Translation - Democrats and RINOs in ID don't want more right-leaning voters in the state.

I'd be willing to bet that Alberta Canada would love to join Greater Alberta. They are sick as hell of Trudeau and the Leftist politics of Canada.

Wowza!

What about taking the Oregon/Washington border and flipping it North/South? West of the Cascades plus Bend can stay blue and the Eastern half can go red. They can fight over what they call their respective states and the location of their capitols. We stay at 50 states and gain two R senate seats.

...Currently there is tourism, agritourism and ecotourism, but the traditional industries of timber, agriculture and mining have decreased in recent years...

Timber, mining and agriculture have declined because of government regulations, not because of any inherent problems in those industries.

Oregon has lots and lots of trees, but sawmills have closed because most trees are off-limits due to government interference with the free market.

DW and I live in southern Oregon. Every time someone tries to start up a new mine it is smothered by regulations before it can even get started.

Agriculture is strangled because the state lays claim to all water in Oregon. We own 40 acres, but the state will not let me create a pond by damming up a creek, and will only let me pump enough for a small lawn from my privately owned well.

Let capitalism loose and we will be prosperous...

“residents do not feel represented in the state Legislature”

They aren’t represented.

And notice how all the horrors are because it will impact government. Nothing about freedom for the people who want this.
