Blinken said he repeated a message President Joe Biden gave to Xi during their summit in San Francisco last November not to interfere in the 2024 US presidential elections. Then, Xi had pledged that China would not do so, according to CNN reporting.
But Xi is lying. Other country’s elections, and their own, have been targets of meddling since long before any of us were born. And it will happen again no matter how much they separate their front teeth enough to let that through.

They likely interfered in the 2016 election against Trump, and definitely interfered in the 2020 election by deliberately releasing Covid on the world in 2019.
If you think of it as kabuki theater it makes sense.
