Had Trump’s accountants booked the $400,000 payment as “Hush Money Payments to Whores” in October 2026, the related tax returns would not be due until Spring 2017. No public scrutiny or audit of records would have been possible for months after that — probably for a year after the election.
Based on the time line, Trump had no motive to characterize the $400,000 as Legal versus Public Relations expenses.
Based on the tax implications, Trump would get no benefit from booking the costs as Legal versus Public Relations expenses.
A charge that Trump conspired with Cohen to hide the “hush money” payments by manipulating the timing thereof, thus depriving the electorate of the salacious, and possibly false, calumny it needed to vote, is ludicrous.
The payment to Cohen was at least in part for his legal services, and in part to reimburse Cohen purchasing the stories and procuring related NDAs.
There is no felony in this, and no crime even for the expired “False record” offenses. The records were not actually false.
The Biden operatives running the case know this. Did the Lawfare/Media complex put out “look squirrel” clues about the potential “crime” to divert attention? My concern is that they will puke up something unanticipated at the very end that throws the defense for a loop, and gives the jury the excuse to convict that it craves.
Therefore, we need to get anticipating. WHAT COULD THEY POSSIBLY CONCOCT? WHAT SECRET WITNESSES WILL THEY CALL?
Because they WILL have something up their sleeves.
The crooked judge blinked again. Found Trump in “contempt” but no jail. THEY KNOW JAILING TRUMP WILL BE THE POLITICAL BACKFIRE FOR THE AGES.
Why wasn’t the original order appealed? Why wasn’t the first contempt finding appealed?
