NEW YORK — The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s hush money trial has fined him $1,000 for violating his gag order and sternly warned the former president that additional violation could result in jail time.
The fine marks the second sanction for Trump for inflammatory comments about witnesses since the start of the trial last month. He was fined $9,000 last week for nine violations.
Judge Juan M. Merchan warned Monday that additional gag order violations could potentially result in jail time, though he said that was “the last thing I want to do.”
Prosecutors in Trump’s hush money trial are moving deeper into his orbit following an inside-the-room account about the former president’s reaction to a politically damaging recording that surfaced in the final weeks of the 2016 campaign.

Why do these articles never cite the statement that is allegedly in violation of the bogus gag order?
This is all going to blow up in their faces. All these persecution trials against Trump are going to result in lawsuits against state and local governments when a. They are tossed out by appeal if convicted, or b. Are tossed due to prosecutorial misconduct.

$1,000 every time he speaks, is very cheap for campaigns. Every nugget out of his mouth makes democrats very nervous. This court case is a good campaign strategy in favor of Trump, courtesy of the democrats.
Trumpster should just ignore anything this judge says. Play the DemocRATS game. Trumpster would become a martyr of gigantic proportion. This judge knows it and is doing what he can to avoid it while being pushed from the left. This could be the trap set of their own making. Trumpster ignores, judge does nothing, trump wins, Trump keeps it up, judge jails him, Trumpster wins because this exposes their contempt for the people.
The judge is doing Trump a favor, by helping Trump to reduce self-inflicted wounds.
It is hard to speculate what will happen if Trump is put in jail.

.....you know the idea of a US President being put in jail for some fraudulent, silly assed infraction like this makes mine and millions of other patriots blood boil.
Now, if the man had shot somebody or ran over somebody while driving intoxicated that’s one thing, but for what amounts to a political sham made possible by a foreign Born judge is another matter. Where the hell is our so called “Supreme” court?

Merchan just needs to resign and give up his law license, if he has one.

Which state and local governments (and judges) are lawsuits being planned to target? I had previously thought state and local governments and judges enjoyed robust protection against civil liability lawsuits? Was that a mistaken impression? Wouldn’t be my first one. Thanks.
