Here is how Republicans should play this out.

1. House of Representatives votes to hold Garland in contempt of Congress.
2. Speaker of the House demands that Garland recuse himself from anything related to the Hur report, including document charges brought by Jack Smith against President Trump until the Department of Justice makes the audio available to Congress or charges are brought by the DoJ.
3. Subpoena the Deputy Attorney General to appear before the committee to testify about conversations with Garland re: the Biden interview tapes.

By withholding the tapes, Garland is announcing to the world that the info contained in them is really, really bad and that Biden is in far worse shape than we have thus far seen. Garland is caught between a rock and a hard place. That’s good for Trump.

The GOP War Room will meet in special session over lunch tomorrow to hopefully reach consensus on how sternly written the letter should be.

Or better yet, charge him personally per day until he gives the tapes so they can see if the transcripts are accurate, like they’ve done with Catherine Herridge who won’t give up her sources.

My guess is that the transcript isn’t accurate.

Their argument is all backwards. There is no way I would allow an interview with anybody from the Deep State unless it WAS recorded. And for the same reason that the committee needs the recording: DOJ is infamous for just making stuff up.
