On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront,” CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser David Axelrod said that President Joe Biden isn’t leading with empathy with his economic messaging and “if he doesn’t win this race, it may not be Donald Trump that beats him, it may be his own pride.”
Axelrod stated, “I don’t understand this. I don’t understand, all these months later, he went — I thought they spent $25 million, mistakenly, last fall, touting Bidenomics and making the same argument that the President’s making here. It is absolutely true, the world was plunged into an economic crisis and America was plunged into an economic crisis by the pandemic, and we’ve come back faster than almost any other country. And he’s right about that, but that’s not the way people are experiencing the economy. They’re experiencing it through the lens of the cost of living. And he is a man who’s built his career on empathy, why not lead with the empathy? And I think he’s making a terrible mistake. It may not be — if he doesn’t win this race, it may not be Donald Trump that beats him, it may be his own pride.”

I’ve asked this before here; is there any “rule” against a debating Presidential candidate getting answers to debate questions through an earpiece radio instead of thinking for themself? Or is it just such shocking bad form that society relies upon the honor system to prevent such cheating at a debate? Is there anyway Trump can call him out on it or jam the signals? I realize Biden’s handler team claims it is hearing aids but is there any upside to calling him out? Would it move the needle with voters at all or just paint a target on whomever called Biden out to be destroyed by the deep state?
Axelrod is right on one aspect--that pride he is talking about is arrogance, due to a successful combination of cheating, lawfare, and gaslighting. Sort of how teenagers think they're indestructible.

Does Biden wear hearing aids on a regular basis, say when he’s having an important meeting with his team, or heads of state? I don’t recall him seeing him wear them except during debates. I could be wrong. Maybe he does wear them regularly.

The economy was already making a comeback before Biden was elected. And the pandemic inflation could have been waning by now, if Biden had not opened the money printing presses with trillions in newly borrowed dollars. Those dollars borrowed against our children’s future has kept the inflation going in spite of the fed’s attempts to squish it.
