The objective is not to get a conviction that will withstand appeal. The goal is to take Trump off the campaihpgn trail as long as possible. And to have “convicted felon” tagged on him as long as possible. While an acquittal would be great, a hung jury is more likely every day. Will have bought them a month.
When he wins, I hope the next Attorney General investigates the election interference conspiracy of the Democrats. They need to go to jail.
Every day of the trial is free campaign time for President Trump. Only the most biased will not see this as a kangaroo court out to get him as a political opponent, not a criminal.

Merchan BETTER allow Costello to testify; he is directly knowledgeable about contrary evidence to what Cohen is stating.
There is video out showing a badly disappointed Anderson Cooper lamenting the defense destroyed Cohen. He even admitted he did not find Cohen believable.
Ummm...because they are Dems and drink the socialist/communist Kool Aid? I think if President Trump (and we) are lucky, maybe it will be a hung jury. Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, but it comes from a lifetime of seeing Dems have zero decency, morals, and concern for this Constitutional Republic.

Even the Trump hater on The Spew(AKA, the View) said she couldn’t convict Trump and this was BEFORE today’s shredding. Cohen has been a liar his ENTIRE life, why is anyone surprised his sorry ass got caught red handed..guess the Dan Goldman “Prepping” didnt work out too well
The defense is allowed to put on whatever witnesses they chose to, that corrupt judge has no say..the OJ Defense team brought in that woman who had taped Mark Fuhrman saying the N word 10 million times to destroy his credibility, Costello should be allowed to testify to destroy what 1 percent of cred Cohen has left
The defense could have everyone else admit, under oath, that they lied, and Trump would still be convicted. No one has Trump’s back, and the guilty verdicts are all lined up to be administered throughout the next several months.
Just more evidence that this is a kangaroo court. True justice is not the prime job of this court.
Yup, seems that 1 minute 36 second telephone conversation wasn’t about Stormy but Cohen sickin the secret service on a 14 year old boy who was pranking Cohen. ...and they have the emails that confirm it.
What is interesting is Goldman, who I think is a lawyer, would have been advising Cohen to lie under oath. A lawyer telling someone to lie under oath is a serious ethical violation.
