Julian Assange has won a victory in his ongoing battle against extradition from the UK after judges at the high court in London granted him leave to appeal. Two judges deferred a decision in March on whether Assange, who is trying to avoid being prosecuted in the US on espionage charges relating to the publication of thousands of classified and diplomatic documents, could take his case to another appeal hearing. Assange had been granted permission to appeal only if the Biden administration was unable to provide the court with suitable assurances “that the applicant [Assange] is permitted to rely on the first amendment, that the applicant is not prejudiced at trial, including sentence, by reason of his nationality, that he is afforded the same first amendment [free speech] protections as a United States citizen, and that the death penalty is not imposed”. Legal argument on Monday focused on the issue of whether Assange would be allowed first amendment protections. Assange’s team did not contest the assurance around the death penalty, accepting that it was an “unambiguous executive promise”. Assange has been indicted on 17 espionage charges and one charge of computer misuse, exposing him to a maximum 175 years in prison, over his website’s publication of a trove of classified US documents almost 15 years ago. American prosecutors allege that Assange, 52, encouraged and helped the US army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning steal diplomatic cables and military files that WikiLeaks published, putting lives at risk.

The argument against JA was always that he compromised our beloved intelligence agents who keep us safe. The same assholes who target law abiding Americans, specifically? There should be a thousand Assanges to root out these traitors.

Julian gave the American people a gift. He deserves retirement to write and reflect. He must be repaid by protecting him from the evil Demoncrats.
The Washington Post can post classified information from confidential sources with no problems but Julian Assange can not. That is the problem. We have acceptable leaks and unacceptable leaks depending on who you are and does it serve the purposes of the elite swamp or hurt the elite swamp.
Indeed yet they have no issue about Biden’s dealings with China for money.

Leftists love talking about speaking truth to power but they will fanatically attack anyone who actually does it.
It is my hope that somehow, someway, he can get out of the country he’s in, can disappear to a lonely little island away from prying eyes and ears and live a quiet life without fear of being “off’d” by some rogue government agency.
The same people who want to destroy Assange are also trying to destroy Trump. I wonder if Trump has changed his position on Assange after experiencing the left’s lawfare and abuses of the Deep State “intelligence” community.
The installation of the POTATUS certainly makes that clear.

Assange knowingly committed a crime. Several, in fact. He might have thought it was for a good cause, but the individual doesn’t get to make that determination, that’s what courts are for. You don’t get to skip the legal rigamarole just because your crime is popular with the general public.
And if the courts don’t agree, and if it was a crime that really was for the public good, that’s what presidential pardons are for.
To commit the crime and then try to weasel out of the foreseeable consequences by pretending you’re some manner of a crusader is pure cowardice. If he wasn’t prepared to stand it like a man, he shouldn’t have done it.
