Did Newton predict the end of the world in 2060, or was that some other scientist of his day?

Few if any are going to bother reading through that so why don’t you sum up what he said?

Normally I'm not the first to take up for the RCC or the papacy. But Newton's theological beliefs were more what he termed "Rationalism". Basically, if he couldn't reason it out in his head, then it can't be true. Thus Newton rejected the idea of a Trinity because it didn't seem reasonable to him that a part of God would walk among us as Jesus. (An oversimplified description of Newton's Rationalism, but I think the point was made.)

So IMHO Newton's not a credible source for criticism of other Christian beliefs. In some ways, Newton's genius handicapped him from believing Scripture fully because he believed his own wisdom was superior (if he can't perceive what he reads in the Bible, then either the Bible is incorrect or people's interpretation must be incorrect).

Incredible mind and pretty unique among scientists, in that he 100% believed in both God and science. Ridiculous volume of publications. The downside is he died a virgin.

Really? A 290 page dissertation? Well, at least you say it's the Papacy. Did he name him, Pope Francis, or is it just to be a Pope in general?

I still think it will be AI.

Just the Papacy. Not a single man.

pretty unique among scientists, in that he 100% believed in both God and science.

It was very common until about 1960.

Well, of course he did.

In a country where Catholicism was punishable by having your property forfeited to the crown (and/or capital punishment) and to attend University you had to subscribe to the XXXXIX (including abjuring the Pope), and all the country's political enemies were Catholic . . .

As did every Protestant Reformer, many of whom where tortured and put to death. All came to the same conclusion, from the bible.

Well, the Pope sitting on the throne over the world for nearly 2000 years, is a pretty good choice for “instead of Christ”. Which is more properly what antichrist would be translated from Greek.

I will look through the subject matter, thanks for the link.
