Greetings to all of who served with us - and the families who stood by us - and all the Vietnamese we did our best to protect.

I started college in 1970 as a newly minted Viet War Veteran (not a Vietnam Vet, I took part, but never boots down in country). I never made a big deal out of being a Vet. I handled in stride the abuses (mostly from media lefties) but I felt for my buddies who had suffered while in, and didn't deserve more derision.
I was never ashamed of my service, but I kept it close.
Then came the first gulf war, and all of a sudden, Vets were honored. A little later, both my "kids" served, and I started wearing a Vets' cap.
I meet some great folks with that hat, every Vet should wear one.
Now? I meet with a group of Vets (mostly Vietnam war Vets like me) each month. Very welcoming and genial group. We all know that we have a special connection that those who did not serve cannot appreciate or understand. It's my association with the very finest.
