The student put his hands on him first, so no- the teacher is NOT going to jail
It should be the STUDENT who receives punishment, preferably in the form of expulsion from school 🏫 and jail time.
Given the difference in size I find that highly unlikely. My guess is the kid insulted him thinking an adult would not use force and found out otherwise. Now the adult wants to justify his Actions. Be interesting to see how the interaction started but it seems the “he deserved it for using racial slurs” defense is already being employed.

I’m not sure on this. That seems to be in question as the news broadcast at the below site says no one identified who sruck first. But the bad part on the teacher is when he did knock the student down, he stood over him and swatted him with his right hand. That didn’t look very good as it displayed an aggressive action rather than defence.
