One does not have to be a believer in a prediction, but merely a transmitter of other strong beliefs. If you listen to the voices in favor of such an outcome, and there are many in California and Texas that are making that same prediction, one wonders if they know something I don't. If the INS is not working and thousands of illegals are crossing the borders each year and staying here, how long would it take for the "prediction" to come true? (this is a rhetorical question no one can answer).

He'll likely get my vote! Bradley's o.k. and probably more the traditional conservative. But we need to keep Richardson out at most any cost. Heck, he's nothing but a carpetbagger anyway. He came into the state to run for Congress and then moved up in the Clinton Administration. Will say anything to any group to get votes (remember he was pro-2nd Amendment when he was first running for Congress - very much doubt he is that way now).

Forgot about him -- didn't he come right before or after Babbit? And New Mexico has had a history of Hispanic representation in Congress -- Though mostly Democrats (except for Lujan), they were a lot more conservative than todays Rats.

Yep. It's the Great Sellout of the GOP. Somewhere down the line the Republicans caught the disease of corruption that has infected the democrats for decades. Money and influence peddling rules the day with the GOP these days and the interests of the American people are nowhere to be found in their twisted agenda.

Now you're getting close to the truth. It's about power and the consequent flow of money from influence.

It's about pluarlism as a growing key to power. It's about an increasing trend toward victory without a plurality let alone a majority. It's about getting elected in a multicultural society.

It's about the most transparent kind of pandering to achieve political victory which leads to power and wealth. It's the "new" politics of the 21st century and 43 is good at it.

I know plenty of hispanic Republican Texans. They won't switch if we don't insult them. I also know plenty of Democrat bigots who won't vote for a hispanic Dem candidate.

No...IMHO...the problem with Governor Perry is that he is a RINO. He was a weak Lt. Governor and a weak Governor because he switched parties and tried to ride the fence. Blue dog democrats don't trust him and Republicans don't either. All the socialist dems don't like him either just because he is a republican. He is probably in the weakest position in the race. If he wins he will be a typical one term Texas governor.

How? They do not have valid SSNs to report income. They go to welfare offices and receive it, no questions asked. Many live in public housing against the laws. Many get their elderly parents hewre for free Social Security, having not paid a dime into it. Many can get WIC by simply crossing the border then having an "emergency birth" at an emergency room, where the hospital cannot tell them to leave. The kid is now an American, by birth.

If so many are working and do not need welfare, or do not collect it, then why are more than 30% of welfare recipients Hispanic?
