What should Israel do to end the terrorism against it?
Total occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, use of nuclear weapons, whatever it takes -- as long as the US can steer clear of becoming embroiled in Israel's problems, I really don't care.
Agreed. He's usually been more subtle about it, like Charlie Reese when he had to run everything through an editor.
Unfortunately, that's not really possible if Bush wants to attack Iraq. He'll be expected to be involved in the "peace process" if he wants the okays from Arab leaders to take out Saddam. Abdullah of Jordan has already said that he would okay an attack on Iraq if there was a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians.
All I can say is I'm quite disappionted in Sobran. How can he honestly think this? Sobran thinks the terror bombings and murders of Israeli civilians is equivalent to Israeli reprisals against Arafat's terrorist militias? Sobran -- you've lost your mind on this.
Sad, but true.
The Institute for Historical Review is the intellectual organ of Holocaust revisionism or, as its enemies call it, Holocaust "denial." It produces a scholarly bi-monthly magazine, Journal of Historical Review, which deals not only with the Holocaust but with a range of other historical topics. It runs long and fascinating articles on such subjects as Lincoln's real views about race.--Joe Sobran April 5, 2001Charges that the IHR is anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi are belied by the Journal's calm and reasonable tone, in contrast to the shrillness and violence of its enemies.
The unavoidable conclusion about the wartime German treatment of European Jewry is that we have encountered a deliberate defamation and falsification conspiracy on an unprecedented scale. The internment of European Jews, like that of the Japanese in the United States and Canada, was carried out for security reasons. .. There is not the slightest intention here to argue that such internment was either necessary or desirable in any of these cases. Our treatment here has been solely concerned with the utterly monstrous and unfounded charge that internment was used by the Germans as a veil behind which they successfully slaughtered no less than six million European Jews. There has never been even the slightest conclusive proof for such a campaign of promiscuous slaughter on the part of Germany, and, in the meantime, all reliable evidence continues to suggest with increasing volume and impact that this genocide legend is a deliberate and brazen falsification.
From a book called The Myth of the Six Million.
And Syria is about 20% Christian. Once it was 95% Christian. Then the Islamic armies came. Syria is a poor choice because it is a Fascist regime. Look at Egypt where Christian churches are leveled and the parishoners are not allowed to fix or build new ones. (Let's not even get into forced conversions.) Of course you should look at the religious regimes of Saudi Arabia or Sudan to see real repression.
The answer to your question--there are millions and millions of Christians living in Arab countries.
As Dhimmia, second class citizens paying special taxes and surviving on the sufference of the regimes.
Compare this to Israel where Christians and Muslims have the same rights as religious Jews.
The Holocaust-denier Faurisson was beaten by some anti-revisionist Jews. Sobran seems to have more sympathy for Faurisson than he does for the Jews who died in the Holocaust...
